Anjunadeep, the renowned UK label responsible for breaking acts like Lane 8, Dusky, Yotto, Cubicolor, Ben Böhmer and Eli & Fur, present the inaugural instalment of their new downtempo compilation series ‘Reflections’. Marking the label’s 500th release, ‘Reflections Vol. 1’ features a handcrafted selection of 10 downtempo electronic cuts from the label’s biggest stars including Yotto and Lane 8, Anjunadeep breakout talents Qrion and Nox Vahn while welcoming new names PBSR, Kitput and Vár Sofandi into the fold.

Label boss James Grant explains: “electronica and chillout were what first got me into electronic music and so it’s a very natural evolution for Anjunadeep to be expanding further in that direction via this new series.”

Winning support from industry tastemakers including Phil Taggart on BBC Radio 1 and Mixmag, ‘Reflections Vol. 1’ presents a selection of new and exclusive electronic tracks, ranging from the piano-led melodies of Yotto’s ‘Maggio’, Deep 08 favourites Lane 8’s ‘Apes & Children’ and Croquet Club’s ‘Slow Mo’, both seeing a long awaited full release, alongside fresh ambient contributions and label debuts from Germany’s Kitput, London-based multi-instrumentalist PBSR and Finland’s Vár Sofandi.

It's hard to pinpoint Parisian producer, Twenty9's sound, but the amalgamation of all his influences definitely amounts to something extremely nostalgic. The feeling is undeniable thanks to breezy rhodes and warm 80s analogue sounds and there's also no doubt that his work would slot right into the catalogue of artists pioneering that unmistakeable 'Toronto' sound. 

'So Far Ahead' is the first single off TapeTrack Vol. 3, which we see as a dedication to modern R&B. It's a reminder to where the R&B scene is moving thanks to modern classics like Frank's "Channel Orange" and Drake's last record. Coupled with sub knocking bass, Twenty9's given us something distinctly him with this release.

Breakout star Berlin-based producer and live artist Ben Böhmer returns to Anjunadeep after a landmark 18 months. Amassing over 50 million streams, picking up BBC Radio 1 support from Annie Mac and Pete Tong, including an ‘Essential New Tune’, being featured in Billboard’s ‘Ones To Watch’ and most notably releasing his acclaimed debut studio album ‘Breathing’ last November. This year Ben released the ‘Breathing’ (Remixed) LP featuring reworks from dance music royalty like Boris Brechja and Gui Boratto, along with his first-ever live album, ‘Live from Printworks London’. He now follows with the statement three-track ‘Phases EP’.

A set of exuberant and unapologetically club-ready tracks, the ‘Phases EP’ is an almost nostalgic evocation of a more innocent and celebratory time. ’With the lockdowns and club closures still in effect across the world, the ‘Phases EP’ is a kind of weird reminder of a lost world, of what once was.’ Böhmer wistfully reminisces, ‘I made the music to sound great in big clubs to a big crowd late at night. In fact, I debuted two of the tracks in my Printworks set last year. Now that’s all gone, and that time seems a world away.’

Title track ‘Phases’, a highly sort after ID throughout Ben’s sets over the past 12 months sees him team up with Anjuna mainstay Spencer Brown for their second collaborative production. The EP follows with a pair of certified dance floor moments, ‘Motherboard’ adrift with vocal loops and driving bass and ‘Zeit & Raum’ a staccato brass-laden number.

With a passion for abstract art and photography, Böhmer is using a piece by artist Tyrone Williams for the cover art of the ‘Phases EP’. Says Böhmer, ‘whenever I travel, I love to visit museums. But there’s no travel now, and all the museums are closed. It’s a different world.’ 

When he’s not working on music in his newly-built home studio, Böhmer currently occupies himself with games of chess and long walks through a nearby forest, living the quiet existence that we all have been reduced to, as we wait for the world to bloom again.

An eclectic selector and producer, ambient music has always been one of her passions. ‘It’s All Over’ is out now.

Since making his debut on the label in 2015, Yotto has garnered a global following and resounding tastemaker backing; with steady support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Danny Howard, while his 2018 debut album ‘Hyperfall’ reached #1 on Billboard’s Dance Album Chart, and saw him tour the world and play at Coachella. Since then Yotto has established his own label, Odd One Out, putting out a string of club cuts supported by the likes of Tale Of Us, Artbat and Eric Prydz.

Independently, both musicians have continued to turn heads in recent years with their own artist projects, with the likes of Mixmag, Billboard and BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart singing their praises, and now boerd and Rondo Mo join forces for their debut collaboration. Born out of a studio session one afternoon upon their first ever meeting in London at the close of 2019, ‘Ready’ sees the pair craft a perfectly dream-like vocal led production; leading with hypnotic Fender Rhodes chords woven between Rondo Mo’s velvet topline melodies.

French-Canadian producer and live act Christophe Dubé, aka CRi, is a dance music star in the making. Following in the footsteps of fellow Montréalers Jacques Greene and Kaytranada, CRi has risen through the city’s bubbling scene in recent years and 2020 is set to be his biggest year yet as he shares the latest single from his upcoming debut album.

‘Signal’ features Daniel Bélanger, a hero of Canada’s Francophone music scene, and one of CRi’s biggest childhood inspirations. With four platinum albums in Canada, and a bevy of Juno and Félix Awards under his belt, Daniel has paved the way for Quebecois artists over his 30 year career, and now collaborates with an electronic artist for the first time. 
A self-taught college dropout, CRi caught the attention of tastemaker press with early single ‘Rush’ and his ‘Someone Else’ EP. ‘Rush’, accompanied by an award-nominated music video, and ‘Someone Else’ picked up a nomination for Electronic Release of The Year at the 2018 Juno Awards (Canada’s equivalent to The Grammy’s).

CRi’s sound blurs light, dream-like melodies with textured production - capturing the energy of the dancefloor, and the nostalgia of the morning after. Christophe draws inspiration from his musical heroes Moby, St Germain and Daniel Bélanger, along with more contemporary influences ranging from Caribou and Dark Sky to Jacques Greene and Actress.

CRi releases his debut album ‘Juvenile’ on October 16 - an 11-track trip through his youth to the present day, featuring collaborations with Jesse Mac Cormack, Sophia Bel and Bernache. Praised by the likes of Vice, The Fader and BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Pete Tong, the album marks a coming of age for the young producer.
