Rising star Clancy follows his debut Anjunadeep release “I Wanna Know / Revolutions” with a moody remix, twisting the feel-good atmosphere of the original into murkier territory. Perfectly in time for the Ibiza season, Dutch trio Envotion make their Anjunadeep debut proper with their sumptuous Balaeric-infused groover - “The Last Wave”.
Built on a breaking funk groove, “The Last Wave” instantly takes a unique step from recent Anjunadeep releases and gently builds with cosmic, heart-swelling melodies that twist and turn upwards. Touching on Balearic, comic disco and groove-fuelled house, “The Last Wave” is a summer masterpiece that evokes laidback beach party vibes. 
A huge fan of the original track, Bristol’s Jody Wisternoff makes a welcome return to Anjunadeep with his clubbier take on “The Last Wave”. Still maintaining the Balearic vibe and cosmic energy of the original, Jody’s rework ups the energy levels and creates a hypnotic progressive groove that releases itself perfectly when the track drops.
A hidden gem on Michael Cassette’s shining, 80s-indebted “Temporarity” album last year, “Pangaea” gets a welcome return thanks to Envotion’s respectful, but re-energising remix. 
Blending their own unique brand of disco-infused progressive, the Dutch trio add a weighty, bass driven groove that takes the track right to the dancefloor – with fresh twists on the original’s bright melodies illuminating the track’s journey.

Way Out West’s Seasoned EDM veteran Jody Wisternoff continues to turn out top-drawer tunes as demonstrated by his debut efforts on Anjunadeep “Lassoo” and “No Longer Strangers”, and this double A-side sees him return in style.

“Vintage”, as the name suggests, has an almost retro feel about it with its long, drawn out 80s-influenced synthesiser lines and intermittent electric guitar riffs. Building in a suspenseful interlude built around those same synthesiser lines, “Vintage” can be slid into the early part of a set or used to break things up in the middle with equal aplomb.

Turn over and you have “Shivver”, a deep, moody and complex number with delicate melodic sprinklings reminiscent of Hawk’s seminal prog house masterpiece “Need For Cognition”. Add in some evocative string sequences, brief dashes of organic percussion and a grinding, pumping bassline that tries at every opportunity to break away off its leash, and you’ll find this to be a very intricately structured box of musical tricks.

Solid Steel (19th May) Our guest in Hour 1 this week is Eclair Fifi one of the founding figures behind the excellent LuckyMe label. The Scottish artist and illustrator started DJing at 16-years-old on pirate radio at InterFACE FM in London, and has since gone to host an In New DJs we Trust residency on BBC Radio 1. Her last project was a series of classic Italo, House and Latin Freestyle reissues with another on the way next month and you can catch her playing all night with special guests to celebrate the release on the 22nd of June at Rye Wax in London. She told us;
“I recorded this mix straight after I’d just got back from The Highlands in Scotland this week.. the clean air, sunshine and mountains directly inspired it! I purposely picked happy songs.. I dug up a few old favourites as well as some new stuff I’m loving right now. Play it loud in the sun :-)"
