2018 has been a big year for Eric Luttrell. Along with the release of his ‘Intergalactic Plastic EP’, the American-born producer has played the DoLab stage at Coachella, Holy Ship, Tomorrowland, as well as supporting Above & Beyond on their North American Tour.

Originally featured as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’, the EP’s title track ‘Intergalactic Plastic’ now gets a stellar remix treatment via Kidnap, Clarian, and Bebetta.

Kidnap builds on Luttrell’s graceful chord progression, combining a chugging bassline and 80’s plucks to create a lush sunset soundtrack, whilst Clarian chooses to get deep, favouring brooding staccato synths and a thumping four-to-the-floor kick. German native Bebetta closes out the package with impeccable sound design, transforming the original into a melting soundscape of twirling synths.

Kicking off the EP is the title track 'Babel', a stripped back, melodic club heater, tinged with hypnotic, cosmic synth transmissions. Up next, 'Technical Maneuvers' is a bold yet refined cut which is neatly contrasted with dramatic synth blasts.
On the flip, the captivating, rolling groove of 'The Gate' takes things up a notch, and Hunter/Game turn down the lights with their remix on the title track 'Babel’. An undulating take ready to grace the dance floor.

Core Ellum Audio artist Dino Lenny returns to the label with two more of his deeply enchanting techno cuts.

As well as running his own Fine Human Records, Lenny has fine credits on landmark imprints such as Cocoon, Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, Diynamic, Innervisions and of course Ellum Audio. He is constantly evolving and honing his sound, which is atmospheric as well as infectious. 

His work on Ellum perfectly fits in with this label’s cinematic style and that continues here.First up is ‘Beg U’, which is a superb seven-minute adventure in deep techno. A lead synth line is allowed plenty of time and space to make its impact, with rawness in the crashing hits and cosmic tension coming from the pads. All in all this is an utterly consuming dance floor experience finished off with an aloof
vocal line that echoes Depeche Mode.

 The excellent ‘Gauss’ ft Black Mami is slick future tech built on busy bass that rattles up and down the scales with real presence. Laser like synths search across the face of the track and it all builds to a rapturous peak that will have the floor going wild.

Runemark Records proudly delivers a beautiful comeback of Teologen with already the 17th release in the label catalog. This time Teologen presents two solo compositions as well as two more created and recorded together with SHMN. A four track EP pack includes brilliant dance floor anthems where each and everyone has got its own atmosphere and feelings, feels like all of them are living on their own. The opening 'Shadow Work' is pulsating, energetic Techno with dreamy vocals that brings tasty subtlety to the whole track. A perfect intro to the rest of the EP. The second collaboration between Teologen and SHMN 'Sola Gratia Sola Techno' delivers housier beats and deeper sounds with an uplifting flow. The amazing vocals fulfill the composition by adding some dramatic delicacy. Third track in the pack 'Into Recourse' is a solo composition by Teologen. A bright and light mood created by atmospheric pads, noisy cuts and artist's vocals. The last but not least 'Standing Here I Bleed' delivers mystery from the first chords. Trippy vocals together with tribal and minimal beats creates dark and atmospheric sense. 'Archetypal Recource' EP is available only in digital format in all digital music stores.

We welcome to the Kompakt family one of our local Cologne heroes, @jonathankaspar. We’ve appreciated him from afar for some time now thanks to his releases on Crosstown Rebels, Pets Recordings, Ouie and of course our own KX imprint. His single “Renard” was a highlight of our recently released TOTAL 19 collection, so it was time to make our relationship official with a 4 track EP.

Opener “Kern” leads with layers of melodic synths power charged around a playful house rhythm. For the digital release he offers up a Percussion Edit that is intended to bring more depth to the charge.
“Zentrum” is for that peak time pace…elevating melodies caress a swelling mid-tempo beat. Not to mention one of the biggest breakdown’s we’ve had the pleasure to release in some time. We move to “Licht” which literally sounds like it soars, then back to earth comes “Kante” – the most techno inspired track of the EP – an oscillating synth rips through solid low end bass frequencies – with Jonathan Kaspar skillfully demonstrating prime time, peak and valley production.

“Kante EP” brings out his emotive, high energy style of writing and producing in a means that could be pointed to as his best work to date.
