Off the back of his recent Anjunadeep EP ‘Hor’s Echo’, Berlin-based DJ and producer Powel now returns with his four-track ‘Chapek 9 EP’. With his 2020 album ‘The Beauty of a Polaroid’ releasing on All Day I Dream, and a plethora of releases across labels including Stil vor Talent and Do Not Sit On The Furniture, Powel’s dreamy productions have seen him supported by producers including Lee Burridge, Joris Voorn and Nick Warren

Powel’s new ‘Chapek 9 EP’ showcases his signature textured sound design, as well as a less-frequently heard flair for bouncing basslines. Title track ‘Chapek 9’ opens the EP whilst ‘Dorfsdisco’ leads with syncopated chords and disco-inspired beats. Rounding off the EP is ‘Wege Zur Unmöglichkeit’, first featured on flagship label compilation Anjunadeep 12; and closing track ‘In Dreams Emotions Are Overwhelming’.

Powel - In Dreams Emotions Are Overwhelming

NYC-based producer and DJ Lauren Ritter (All Day I Dream, ReSolute, Rift Vision) returns to her roots with “Antigone // Sarus”, a new EP featuring two emotive, nostalgic, and melodic original compositions, “Antigone” and “Sarus,” that are sure to please fans of her All Day Dream 2015 debut Lark EP and her recent Rift Vision output alike. “Antigone” is an ever-evolving, bubbling, and driving number that showcases her classical music training and sensibilities, while “Sarus” is an airy, serene, glittering, and uplifting complimentary composition. Lauren invites friends Powel (DE – All Day I Dream) and Zone+ (BH – All Day I Dream / Satya / Mixcult) to provide their takes on both tracks, who each weave in dynamic grooves and vocal elements in their signature styles to underscore Ritter’s melodic motifs.

Lauren Ritter unveiled her imprint Rift Vision in 2020 during lockdown and has since released three emotive EPs encompassing her own solo compositions, collaborative works with Oakland-based poet Tenesha The Wordsmith (On The Corner), and remixes by lauded talent such as Octo Octa, Lawrence, Jenifa Mayanja, and Rrao. Stay-at-home DJ no more, Ritter has been back DJing in full force, with appearances incl the Zamna festival NYC, Do Not Sit Miami, Shameless Seattle, Public Records NYC. 2024 kicked off with a long-awaited return to Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream label, with Ritter being featured in their winter compilation. This year will include more releases from Lauren, including another EP entitled Blue Nine on Rift Vision in November.
