This is my tribute to the legendary DJ and producer Lee Burridge.

He was born in 1968 in the UK and grew up in Hong Kong, where he first discovered his love for electronic music. In the early 1990s, he relocated to the UK and quickly established himself as a rising talent in the dance music scene.

Over the course of his career, Lee Burridge has become known for his unique blend of deep house, tech house, and progressive sounds. His DJ sets are renowned for their immersive, dreamy, organic and atmospheric qualities, often taking listeners on a journey through different moods and emotions.

Although Lee Burridge has produced a number of tracks over the years, he is perhaps best known for his collaborations with Lost Desert. Together, the duo have released several acclaimed EPs and full-length albums.

When I first developed an interest in electronic music, particularly in the deep house genre, Lee Burridge was probably one of the earliest artists that caught my attention.

On the title track from his upcoming fifth album 'Mimose,' acclaimed German electronic musician and multi-hyphenate producer @parraforcuva does what he does best - conjure a sweeping, hypnotic aural experience driven by crisp, dazzling percussion coloured with melodic textures and hooks, a sort of otherworldly groove that speaks toward the wanderlust that belies the soul of his music. Renowned for a distinct sense of worldliness, his music, combined with stunning visuals, creates a magical realm where the resonance of Caribbean steel drums may intertwine with ancient Zimbabwean instruments and transports the listener to distant lands. The artist’s upcoming album promises to follow suit, with his newest project produced during his recent travels and is subsequently titled after the German Mimose, a flower that blooms in Italy, where the majority of the tracks were brought to life.

Not only the aspiring era of electronic music in the 90s, but also the passion for electronic
sounds guided his way behind the domestic decks early on. The fire of an intimate relationship
with electronic music has definitely been boosted by this. So it should not take long before the
passion for mixing and djing led to various own party series as well as to a residency in a club in
his city of birth Göttingen. Other stations followed, such as a weekly show at the online radio
We-love-house.fm, or various gigs, for example in the legendary Stammheim Kassel, the
Warehouse in Cologne or the JuicyBeats Festival in Dortmund. In his adopted hometown
Hamburg, Herr Oppermann is a regularly act in the local clubs of the city as well as a co-partner
of the Hamburg based podcast series „Klangextase“.
As a DJ, Herr Oppermann transforms his dedication to music to the audience, combining classic
and modern elements of electronic music. His style describes a varied journey between deep,
minimalist elements and Tech – House, turning each of his sets into a journey of sound with a
lot of variety.
With his releases on Tach & Nacht and Amber Recordings, he also shows his producer qualities
by transferring his close relationship with electronic music into melodic tech house tracks.
