The Anjunadeep Edition 109 With Hisham Zahran

My inspiration for this recent composition is an idea I have been playing around with that I like to call "rekindling". 

I think we have all felt the emotional load of just one more thing thrown at you on an already challenging day. Enough days like that and you start getting weak, you become emotionally drained. To the point where you find it hard to create space for yourself, let alone for loved ones in your life. Personally, I find it hard to be the light worker I know myself to be. I find myself shying away from emotionally charged conversation that I would, in a stronger state, purposefully seek out. I find myself hiding away in my room, hoping to isolate myself into health through hollow activities when I know my talents are in serving others. I relate this feeling to my internal fire, where once bright and full, is now flickering. I feel like I have given "too much" of my light away and now I am left with nothing. Sometimes I may even feel regret in giving my light in certain situations. This is toxic thinking. 

It is hard to catch myself in this state because the signs are not obvious. The mind is great at tricking itself into thinking it's fine... and what is fine for the mind is not always what is best for the spirit. The mind believes that you are over extended and it needs to retreat to regather strength. The cure I have found most effective to this condition is surrounding yourself with community. 

My community has always been in music, but for you it can be yoga, running, a book club, or even your family. The most important thing is that you need to feel like you are not alone in your mission. My mission has always been to help others see and reach their full potential. And If I can give my light away for them to do that, then I would...without a second thought. And when I am running low, I need to bring myself to the events where all my brothers and sisters are at who share the same mission as me. When I go to shows or events like Lightning in a Bottle, it is a means for me to find my fellow light workers, join together our flickering lights and rekindle ourselves into our fullest strength once more so that we can continue what we are here to do. 

Sometimes all it takes is to know you are not alone in your mission. You become inspired in observing someone act in an honorable way, or perform an admirable deed. Sometimes you just need someone you highly respect to share some light with you, to be seen fully and completely with nothing but love in their heart. Regardless, when you join flames with the people you love and respect, you all benefit from the activity. Each time I leave a Rekindling event, I feel like a new me. Ready for anything life wants to throw at me. I can step into my power, reach my fullest potential, and share my light once more with the people who can benefit from it.

I created this mix in an attempt to rekindle those who haven't found their community yet. Or maybe it has been some time since you got together. I curated this set to be some of the most empowering and inspirational music I own. I hope to rekindle you from afar to keep you moving through the tough patches. If there is anything I know, it is that music brings people of like minds together. I have met some of my best friends through music and I am sure I have many more to find. Maybe as we all listen to this mix, we can all put our lights together and rekindle while being oceans apart. 

I will leave you with this...your light is your greatest gift and I encourage you to share it with everyone you know...at every opportunity you have. By sharing your light you are allowing them to carry it forward and inspiring them to share theirs with someone else. That is the only way we will scale this mindset to enough people to create the changes we need in this world. And when you are feeling weak, you are not alone. Come find us, we are looking for you...and we will rekindle together. We have work to do <3.
