DJ to some of London’s best nights, a classically trained musician and long-time face of Soho’s legendary Black Market Records, Hilit Kolet is the need-to-know artist ready to take the world by storm.

Her debut production, ‘Techno Disco’, came out on Defected in fall 2021 and is loved and supported by Jovonn, Todd Edwards, Harry Romero, Heidi Lawden, John Summit, Roger Sanchez, Terry Farely, Riva Starr, Syreeta and many more. It reached #1 on Music Week’s Upfront Club Chart, #1 on Traxsource’s House chart and #3 on Shazam’s UK discovery chart, making it one of 2021’s biggest records. 

Hilit is also known for her hi-octane DJ sets and has wowed the crowds at XOYO, Ministry of Sound, Egg Club, Dalston Superstore in London, Renate, Sisyphons, Ritter Butzke in Berlin and elsewhere around the globe.

"I originally had a different concept for this mix in mind but then the gutting news from Ukraine came in and I tossed it out; instead, I just wanted to jam. Blasting out loud dance music of all sorts had been my way of coping with life as a child, and in that sense, it’s still how I deal with sh!t to date, so yesterday I took advantage of this mix and let it out.

It's a great privilege to feature Blue Symmetry once again on our imprint. A downtempo project, featuring electronic music veterans Blugazer (instrumentation) and Catherine (vocals), Blue Symmetry made an indelible impression on our community last year, with the arrival of their debut artist album, "Color The Afterglow." Their latest release, "Transitions," includes "Hover," the closing track on our recent "Only Silk 04" compilation release.

The previously unreleased "Neighbourhoods" kicks off the EP. In the early going, a steady deep house beat is punctuated by a fluttering, hypnotic synth, as well as various atmospheric effects. We're met by Catherine's effortlessly soothing and evocative vocals at the quarter turn. As the song progresses, the listener continues to drift away into a mellifluous and tranquil sea of sound. For fans who desire vocal-less downtempo, we've also included a Dub Mix of this one.

The lush broken-beat cut, "Hover," rounds out the package. Blue Symmetry's visionary soundscape is at once erotic and suspenseful, not unlike Massive Attack's downtempo classic "Teardrop." Catherine's mature and polished vocal and Blugazer's intricate and compositionally rich instrumental have never sounded better in unison.
