Boston-based duo Warung release their third EP with Anjunadeep 'Falling EP'. The release follows their recent remix of label-favourite Marsh's 'Blue', featuring Leo Wood, and the premiere of title-track 'Falling' on flagship label compilation Anjunadeep 14; one of two Warung tracks featured and cementing three consecutive years of support from James Grant & Jody Wisternoff.

The release combines driving breakbeat track 'Falling' with the club-ready 'Dreamscape', and rounds off with the duo's collaboration with Oliver Wickham 'Vertigo', which features powerful, swelling synths and Wickham's own vocals. Oliver Wickham is a Canadian vocalist and producer, who has also been previously championed by James Grant & Jody Wisternoff in label compilations, and collaborated with the likes of Simon Doty on previous Anjunadeep releases.

This addition to Warung's discography further demonstrates why they've been supported by the likes of Gorgon City, Eelke Kleijn and John Digweed, as well as Danny Howard and Pete Tong of BBC Radio 1. 'Falling EP' is out July 4 via Anjunadeep.

Nuno dos Santos’ boutique label SoHaSo (shorthand for Something Happening Somewhere; although, sadly the same can no longer be said of Trouw) has been cruising steadily for the best part of two years now, but "Tonii" might just be the best thing committed to wax yet. Love Over Entropy's 12m original is sturdy with bright flourishes throughout, forever climbing and searching without resolve; techy without, y'know, being techy. 

This retouch comes from none other than Innervisions' main man, although  less overtly lovelorn than we've come to expect. He  twists the lead melody into something resembling a steel pan drum, backed by laser-guided synths pinging all around: a festival-sized breakdown held just at the precipice, never fully cresting. Dixon, you big tease.

Following in the footsteps of rising talents Luttrell, Theo Kottis and Aiiso, young Finnish producer Tontario marks a new wave of talent joining Anjunadeep over the past 12 months. Making his first label outing last summer on the second installment of the ‘Explorations’ various artist EP series, followed by a pair of contributions on 2016’s iTunes Dance #1 album ‘Anjunadeep 08’, Tontario now presents his debut EP on the label with ‘Solitude’. 

Title track ‘Solitude’ is an atmospheric roller featuring dreamy vocals from fellow Finn, Lake Jons. A stand out moment from ‘Anjunadeep 08’ alongside his stunning rework of Ólafur Arnalds’s ‘Öldurót’. The EP’s second track ‘Late’ blends gentle grooves with blissful piano melodies before ‘Passing’ serves up darker dance floor vibes with Tontario’s trademark cinematic touch. Closing the EP is ‘Revenge’, a reflective deep cut that layers strings alongside haunting keys and layered organic sounds.

A name synonymous with exquisite melodies and piano chord progressions that
entrance the listener, Roy Rosenfeld is a talent that needs little introduction. For
him, music is a way of communicating emotion to multitudes with no words
necessary, hence the attention and effort he pours into each release, mix and DJ set.
Besides a long-running friendship with Guy J and his label’s family members, this EP
sees him officially join the Lost &amp; Found roster, marking yet another exciting
development in the Israeli producer’s career. ‘Helena’ joins a back catalogue of
releases on revered labels such as Kompakt, All Day I Dream and Systematic.
The title track combines a steady, stealthy beat with bongo rhythms and flute-like
riffs, overlaid with uplifting, melodious synth chords. Things go a little deeper n ‘Gran
Poema’, mingling growling synth beats with emotive piano and wind chimes against
a loose, slapping rhythm like rain on water, further echoed by plucked strings and
swooping notes in the breakdown. The EP rounds off with ‘Love From Afar’, an
other-worldly soundscape of muted hi hats and brushes, with fragments of
mysterious static and questioning plangent synths punctuating a complex drum riff.
This three-tracker is an apt soundtrack for the daytime festivals and balmy Ibiza
nights that are finally just around the corner…

Anjunadeep stalwarts Eli & Fur a.k.a Eliza Noble & Jennifer Skillman make a statement homecoming with the four track ‘Night Blooming Jasmine’ EP. The release sees the UK duo return to their songwriting roots - putting their voices front and centre, whilst blending their trademark rolling grooves with a refined production style.

“Our journey as club DJs has inspired us in so many ways and we wanted to draw from those experiences, as well as our more song-based tracks earlier in our career and make something a little different that means a lot to us artistically. We feel this EP merges these two worlds together and we hope that what you hear in these songs, is our love of song-writing as well as the darker, more melodic side of electronic music that tells stories and creates emotions.”

The title track is a brooding homage to Los Angeles, built around an infectious vocal hook and crisp percussive groove. As they explain “we wrote most of the lyrics while in the city and recorded the vocals in the studio out there so listening to it really takes us back. The smell, the lights, the skies and not wanting to leave. As well as that sense of how Hollywood used to be. The decadence of it all and the cracks under the surface of the American dream.”

Following his much-loved remixes of Maribou State and ODESZA released on Anjunadeep in 2015, label favourite Daniel Goldstein aka Lane 8 returns with two stellar reworks of George FitzGerald’s 2017 anthem ‘Burns’.

Lane 8’s ‘Morning Mix’ is an ode to the lush atmosphere of the original, a highlight from George’s sophomore album ‘All That Must Be’ released earlier this year on Domino. With the original’s mesmerising vocal chops front and centre, Goldstein blends tranquil piano arpeggios and stuttering synth stabs to create a pensive soundscape imbued with melancholy.

The ‘Club Mix’ is a showcase of Lane 8’s trademark sound. Detuned chords, void-like atmospheres, and a thumping four-to-the-floor kick drum combine to create a fierce peak-time soundtrack.

Back in 2009, when we were just two huge dance music fans, we discovered this unknown producer called Avicii. He entered the scene out of the blue and nobody had any idea of who this guy was and what he looked like. When we heard his first track, his remix of Tiësto’s ‘Escape Me’, we knew he was something else. His music was special, and resonated with us unlike any other producer had done so before or since. It didn't take long for him to change dance music completely and break record after record. He was one of the reasons we wanted to make our own records.

When we started making our own music in 2012, one of the first original songs we ever made was called ‘South Beach’. We absolutely loved the track, but decided to not release it. It was heavily inspired by Avicii's sound and our management at that time advised us to focus on other songs. The track sat on the shelf for years while we developed our own sound and style. Over the next few years of touring, studio time and many song projects, we simply forgot about the track..

We will never forget that fateful day in April 2018, when we received the news of Avicii's passing while we were on tour. Our plane had just landed in Denver for a connecting flight when our manager texted us about his unfortunate passing. We could not believe that this was real, and simply didn't want to believe it.

We have never really been the kind of people who got heavily affected by celebrity deaths. Until that moment.

A week went by and we suddenly remembered the old track we made that has been sitting untouched for years. We searched several of our old hard drives to see if we still had the project saved somewhere. As luck would have it, we did. And now we finished it, six years later. ‘South Beach’ is our musical tribute, a homage to one of our biggest musical influences.

While it saddens us that we will never be able to tell him how much his music meant to us, we hope that this song will honor him and his style of music. He’ll be forever in our hearts.
