Following the inaugural volume in October, ‘Reflections Vol.2’ is a collection of downtempo and electronica from label favourites Jody Wisternoff, Kidnap, Croquet Club, Martin Roth and Luttrell, along with rising talents Luigi Sambuy, Lycoriscoris, Tryst and Dotmaka.

Including compilation singles ‘Don’t Bite’, the debut release and new musical endeavour from Fur Skillman (Eli & Fur) alongside TÂCHES, and ‘Love Theme’ from Martin Roth, ‘Reflections Vol. 2’ also features the long-awaited full release of Croquet Club’s Anjunadeep 09 highlight ‘Night Lights’, an exclusive piano piece from San Francisco’s Luttrell and label debuts from UK duo Tryst and Dotmaka.

* Increasingly there is some overlap between "Calm & Steady" and "Funky-Dub-Trap", and between a bunch of others (Dark, Minimal, ...). I'm trying to keep it to the minimum, the overlap, tracks finding themselves in more than one playlist.

Then proceeds to spike up at 7.7 hz, and goes back to 9hz to leave to mind awake, but relaxed.

This track also features a soft intro piano, a rainforest with birds, wind, soft uplifting music, bells and chimes, a light drumming, sitar by Kaiho, and a relaxing stream of water over rocks.

Portuguese artist Delectatio is a new signing to Silk Sofa. His EP, "Sunrise", features four unique and unforgettable downtempo cuts.

"Numinous" starts with intriguing guitar riffs and enjoyable melodies on top. Soon, intricate percussion elements as well as hypnotizing vocal stems emerge, while the delightful theme melody continues to liven up the soundscape. A blissful guitar line and soothing percussion elements introduce "Be Free". Fascinating vocal stems are added later, thereby adding an extra layer of delicate and refreshing textures. "Remember" begins with a stunning atmosphere, including a number of lush synths and an intricate bassline. A mesmerizing arpeggio melody emerges later, and numerous sound effects continuously spice up the soundscape. The final song in this package is "Latibule". Beautiful melodies are quickly established, and multiple new layers are added on top, as the song progresses. The soothing breakbeat comforts the listener even further.

A legend of Bristol’s dance music scene, Jody Wisternoff releases his brand new twelve-track LP ‘Nightwhisper’ today. His first solo album in eight years, ‘Nightwhisper’ follows Wisternoff’s 2012 debut LP ‘Trails We Blaze’ and esteemed catalogue as Way Out West. 

A formative figure in the UK rave scene, Wisternoff first made his name in the early ’90s before cementing his position as one of the UK’s finest talent-spotters and DJs as part of the Anjunadeep label family, where he co-curates the chart-topping annual compilation series. 

Written primarily in 2019, ‘Nightwhisper’ is a deeply personal album born out of a time of introspection for the Bristol producer following the death of his father:

“It was a time of conflicting emotions for me… I suddenly found myself appreciating the simpler things in life in a way that I had never done before, but on an equal note also questioning mortality on a level that is only possible after the passing of a family member.” 

Amidst the hefty demands of fatherhood and touring, Jody came to embrace his newfound awareness of impermanence and loss in his songwriting. The intimacy of the album is quickly conveyed in the opening track ‘Morning U’, which features spoken home recordings of Jody’s father above a touching melody. Exploring the full spectrum of emotion, the lively progressions and lyrics of ‘Lately’ and ‘Reverie’ provide an optimistic contrast to more melancholic numbers ‘For Those We Knew’ and ‘Nightwhisper’. 


Sonically, the album is heavily influenced by Wisternoff’s eclectic tenure in the UK music scene. Launching his career in 1986 at the age of 13 as a finalist at the DMC World DJ Championship, Wisternoff honed his craft at the forefront of UK rave culture, playing warehouses for seminal promoters Fantazia and Universe, and hosting a residency at the iconic Lakota club in Bristol. After a chance encounter in a record store, Wisternoff joined forces with Nick Warren to form Way Out West. The luminary duo rose to fame in the 1990s with several UK-charting singles and a UK dance number one in ‘Mindcircus’, quickly followed by a 1997 album ‘Way Out West’, which saw critical and commercial success. 


A statement LP with a pertinent message during this grounded time, ‘Nightwhisper’ is a culmination of Wisternoff’s decorated career and progression as an artist, husband, and father: 

“‘Nightwhisper’ is an attempt at finding balance and inner peace during the ever-changing life journey… In some ways, it’s a personal lullaby, a call back to simpler times which of course is impossible, but comforting none the less.”

Omara “Bombino” Moctarwas born on January 1, 1980, in Tidene, Niger, an encampment of nomadic Tuaregs located about 80 kilometers to the northeast of Agadez. Bombino grew up during a time of political upheaval, fleeing w/ his family to Algeria in 1990. During this time Bombino picked up his first guitar, and after returning to Niger years later, began playing music professionally. His music is sung in Tamasheq and often address geopolitical concerns in Turag, and his electrifying jams capture the spirit of resistance and rebellion while echoing with guitar riffs reminiscent of fellow Africans Tinariwen and Ali Farka Touré as well as Jimi Hendrix, John Lee Hooker and Jimmy Page.
"Imuhar" is a killer track from his 2013 "Nomad" album released for Nonesuch Records. Our mate Funkenschleuder pays his respect to Bombino with a stunning edit of the original track delivering a great rolling Downtempo beauty!

ilan Bluestone and Maor Levi introduce Alex Clare to Anjunabeats on long-awaited single, ‘Hold On’.

Anjunabeats stalwarts (and best friends), ilan Bluestone and Maor Levi have been collaborating since 2011. Together, they’ve released the singles ‘Will We Remain?’, ‘Can You’ and ‘The Distance’, in addition to remixing Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond and Gabriel & Dresden.

In 2019 they launched their Elysian project alongside Emma Hewitt. Lead single ‘Moonchild’ broke just as the world entered lockdown, putting their tour plans on ice.. for now.

London based singer / songwriter Alex Clare first broke out in 2011 with ‘The Lateness of the Hour’ on Island Records. Produced by Diplo and Switch - the original Major Lazer lineup - the album included cross-Atlantic hits ‘Treading Water’, ‘Up All Night’ and ‘Too Close’, Alex’s double platinum single that hit Top 10 in the UK and US.

Two LPs followed: 2014’s ‘Three Heats’ and 2017’s ‘Tail Of Lions’ plus collaborations with Rudimental, Sub Focus and Don Diablo.

Following a chance meeting in 2017, Alex, Maor and Ilan got together to record ‘Hold On’. It’s been fine-tuned on the world’s biggest trance stages: Untold Festival, Creamfields and Dreamstate L.A.

“We always got shivers while listening to Alex’s ‘Too Close’. It was a huge record in the U.K.,” explain Ilan and Maor. “As it turned out Alex was teaching a friend of ours to play the guitar. Another mate went to the same gym as Alex, so managed to get in contact.”

“We originally sent Alex a different instrumental to record on. He sent us the vocal back and we were so inspired by it that we decided to create a completely new record that fit his vocal better.”

‘Hold On’ is about embracing every moment in life: “..it’s too short to be filled with tears.” With the world on hold, they are words we can all take to heart.

“Ilan put together some beautiful chords while I worked on the groove,” says Maor. “We wanted the message of the lyrics to shine through and we think we achieved that. It’s a powerful track.”

“We worked on the track remotely, finishing the first demo during Miami Music Week 2018 over video calls. It immediately felt like a special record even back then. Today, the song’s message feels more important than ever.”

Anjunadeep, the A&R hotbed that ignited the careers of label legends Lane 8, Yotto and Dusky, now present the second instalment of their new ‘Reflections’ compilation series. Following the inaugural volume in October, ‘Reflections Vol.2’ is a collection of downtempo and electronica from label stars Jody Wisternoff, Kidnap, Croquet Club and Luttrell, along with rising talents Luigi Sambuy, Lycoriscoris, Tryst and Dotmaka.

The compilation’s second single, stirring piano composition ‘Love Theme’, is from Berlin producer Martin Roth. 2021 marks over a decade long relationship with the label since Martin’s debut release back in 2010 and since, he’s produced some of the most memorable and fan favourite moments in Anjunadeep’s 15 year history; including ‘Beautiful Life’ and his ‘Hypno Seq’ and ‘Organic Cold Brewed Hipster Funk’ EPs in recent years. With an undeniable flair for emotive and cinematic songwriting, his 2020 ambient LP ‘An Analog Guy In A Digital World’ winning widespread acclaim, Martin makes a welcome return to the label with his latest filmic offering on the beautifully crafted ‘Love Theme’, out now.

'Reflections Vol. 2’ also features the long-awaited full release of Croquet Club’s Anjunadeep 09 highlight ‘Night Lights’, an exclusive piano piece from San Francisco’s Luttrell and label debuts from REVE D’ELLE a.k.a Fur Skillman (Eli & Fur) and TÂCHES, UK duo Tryst and Dotmaka.
