Getting Old Was Never Meant to Be Easy

This song and it's cover shows myself as the hand that freely gives her heart. The outer world is identical to the world shown in the mirror; there is no difference between the outer and inner world of the mirror. 

The heart is made of white crystal, pure and unadulterated, just like the love I give.

In the middle: the person who stands “between” the scene, who sees both: the outer and inner world, but remains stuck in between, indecisive, hesitant—searching... 

waiting for something that is simply not there—because what he sees is not enough, and what he is waiting for... will never be there.

Does Love need a Reason?

I dedicate this song to everyone who has ever asked themselves what it means to grow old in today's world and to be dependent on the help of others. 

This story is based on my own experiences in a nursing home in Wetzlar, where I worked as a nursing assistant. I was forbidden from spending time with the people there after work... I was fired because I believed that these people deserved more than 10 minutes of my time...

It is also a cry for help regarding the current situation in nursing homes and retirement communities, with a plea to give people more time and attention. These people deserve our attention, our love, our appreciation, and our respect for the achievements they have made in their lives.

All you caregivers out there who suffer from the situation where people are largely just numbers who are given very little time... All of you who know that this is not right. Please do something every day to give one of the people in your care a reason to smile at you.

Just one. That's all it takes. Every day. Then you have already changed a lot! Not only for you - but especially for them! 💖

I am Anke from Germany and I have been writing poems since my childhood. Lots of my songs are just these poems put into a song by giving them a melody that fits. Unfortunately, I am not a singer myself, but only a writer and stylist for my music; the music itself and the voices are generated by SUNO AI. Lots of my songs are telling stories about my life and about who I am and some of my songs are just made out of my thoughts and feelings. Some I wrote to thank all my friends for always beeing there for me. I have no particular fondness for a certain style of music, maybe that's why my songs are very different in styles and sounds.
