Taken from Body Reflections Pt.1
Releasing on Tresor Records, February 24th on 12" vinyl and digital. 

Tresor’s newest release features BNJMN on Body Reflections Pt. 1. The four track EP captures a uniquely subdued mood that resides at the nexus of ambient dance music, and that integrates seamlessly with Tresor’s penchant for restrained and dub-inflected techno.

Each track on the EP introduces symmetry and rhythm in the form of organic percussion. “Overskies" and “Enceladus" are more lethargic and ethereal, each blanketed with discordant melodies and arcing synth lines. "Hadal Zone" is more dance-oriented - here, a sophisticated interplay of percussive elements loop over plaintive vocals and soft harmonies. “Syzygy" then brings the EP to a techno-focused close with driving kicks, oscillating synths, and repeating minor chords.

Body Reflections Pt. 1 is deeply illustrative of BNJMN’s affinity for creating nuanced and delicately balanced layers, and a culmination of his vast experience.

French producer Monty is one of the most exciting names in Drum & Bass right now with releases on 1985 Music, Critical Music and Invisible Recordings to his name already. ‘Upside Down’ is the second track from HumaNature on the EP and our favourite of the two, a late addition to the project it closes out the release in silky smooth fashion. Jazz influences run riot, flickering keys revolve around sliding guitar notes and pulsating horn movements create a rich introspective feel.

Totemo is an Israeli singer-songwriter and producer from Tel Aviv who combines new electronics to singer-songwriter craftsmanship. She creates intimate yet expanding songs, seductively beautiful. Totemo- Fifty Words For Time (DF Tram Remix)

Pittsburgh resident Shawn Rudiman releases his debut EP on Tresor Records. Titled Autonomic Pilot, it features shifting tables of subliminally orchestral synths and rich drum textures that spawn new voyages.

A bold approach underlines ‘KNSR’, where saturated acid manipulates the cinematic intent of the brassy synth strokes. Too Far Gone goes for the interstellar, featuring insistent, playful percussion amidst widescreen resonances before resolving into a cerebral workout of Rudiman’s trademark machine funk. ‘Erotique Feedback’ shows Rudiman honing his focus into what will no doubt be a regular in clubs - a 303-oriented electro trip, a synaptic drive into glittering acid bliss.

On the B-side, the mind magic of ‘Past The Edge’ shifts outside, bringing a sunrise for those who reinvent the possibilities of the day. ‘Eyes Forward’ is a techno banger, forcefully pointing in the direction of travel and shutting the door behind. Ascending effortlessly, Rudiman motors into essential repetition. ‘Backwards Tomarrows’ brings an industrial feel, almost obscuring melodies and cadences that recalls the galactic innovations of the Detroit sound.

The studio is Rudiman’s vehicle, the weapon and the balm. From synthetic wonders to dark-warehouse drum missives, Autonomic Pilot proves once again Rudiman as a master of his craft. Tresor Records is proud to welcome his new work into the world.
