Originally released on Shapes Of Rhythm (@shapesofrhythm) in 2017 as a part of his "Southern Uplands" EP, Octo Champ (@octochamp)'s Lacuna gets the remix treatment from Germany's David Hanke. While the original was more on an start-of-the-night Disco-House tip, this flip is a tad deeper with added keys and synths to also appease the fully electronic heads. Best known as his Renegades Of Jazz (@renegadesofjazz) alias, David Hanke has been in the music game for longer than most. With over 100 remixes to his name, his skills in re-crafting tracks to fit on a floor is almost second nature!

The previously unreleased remix of “Human Call”, the title track from Earthboogie's superb debut album, by friend and fellow musical fusionist Joel Harrison finally gets a vinyl release. His version is warm, woozy, driving and percussive, brilliantly re-imagining Earthboogie’s original version as a supersonic slab of peak-time ready deep house. The band’s original chanted vocals, guitars and melodies slowly rise above bustling, all-action drums, weighty bass, alien-sounding electronic flourishes, poignant trumpet parts and seriously dreamy sustained chords.

An old friend returns to Pets. Three years after his ‘Polyphonic’ EP, Catz ‘n Dogz bring the legend that is Mathias Kaden back on the label and the results speak for themselves…
Following his recent barnstormers on Avotre and Rekids, both ‘Square’ and ‘Distant Horizon’ deliver in that unhurried, cosmic journey-like way Kaden has made his signature over the years: gentle layering, subtle moment, palpable atmospheres but the drive and underbelly of a bulldozer. 
‘Square’ kicks off the show with an eight-minute adventure into deep, warm undulating acid. Heavy subs, fluid drums and a persistent spoken vocal texture, this one wraps you up like a cloak. ‘Distant Horizon’, meanwhile, whips that cloak off so quickly it will send you spinning deeper and deeper into the celestial rabbit hole. A 10-minute Mathias epic, it warms up with a progressive rolling feel for a good few minutes before we’re suddenly derailed into a trippy, hazy brew of weird bass bubbles and some rather outlandish spoken word. Poetry in high grade technoid motion. 
And the motion doesn’t stop there… Ever ones to get involved, Catz ‘n Dogz get their paws on ‘Distant Horizon’ and give it their own gritty, grainy, trippy twist. Two parts tribal, one part bass, all parts peak time, this doesn’t just stare out at the horizon but flies you right over it.
