24 Hours is a piece that encapsulates the radio news editions that are broadcasted here in Israel every hour all day long.

It takes 24 consecutive news editions of one specific day where an extreme event called the "Hebron shooting incident" occurred and attempts to show how the story evolves during that day on the news and to explore the contradiction between the violence and other daily events that were reported during that day.

A Palestinian assailant stabbed an Israeli soldier, and as a result was shot, wounded and "neutralized", and afterwards was shot again in the head by an IDF soldier, as he lay wounded on the ground. The second shooting was videotaped and released by the news later that day.

This work takes 24 consecutive news editions of that one single day (news on the radio are broadcast every hour) and attempt to show evolution of the story - beginning with the Palestinian stabbing the soldier, and later during the day after the videotape was released - the story of the Israeli soldier shooting the Palestinian in the head after he was neutralized.

"Tittytainment" was a term coined by Zbigniew Brzezinski, the National Security advisor of US president Jimmy Carter, essentially to convey the thought that a mixture of "intoxicating entertainment and sufficient nourishment" that can "tranquilize the frustrated minds of the globe's population."
The term gained currency during the famous first State of the World Forum held at San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel in 1995, where this idea was apparently proposed as the solution to the "20-80 society" of the 21st century.
This track, also called Tittytainment, is my interpretation of how this kind of dumbing down-culture are spreading world wide, and how it sounds.

As part of her ongoing exploration of “gendered listening” as a feminist tool, Anna Raimondo interviews Canadian sound artist, performer and composer Erin Gee. By articulating materialist feminist strategies around digital tools through the use of her voice and body, Erin Gee re-apropriates and combines supposedly “masculine” tools with a hyper-feminine aesthetic. As part of an ongoing research into ASMR, Gee explores different languages for encouraging intimacy with the audience.

Comment écouter la relation entre espaces privés et publics de la Medina à Marrakech ?

Guidées par les oreilles et les voix de Latifa, Mina, Zahra, Meriem Saou’d, Amina, Rachida, Nadira, Khadija et Fatima, ce documentaire sonore propose une dérive auditive dans les ruelles de la Medina de Marrakech a partir d’une perspective genrée et plurielle.

En se concentrant sur l’approche orale et auditive, l’intention est de créer un chœur multiple de voix basé sur la narration personnelle de leurs perceptions, valeurs et expériences quotidiennes de la ville, en se concentrant également sur le paysage sonore public et ses propres rythmes, que ces femmes contribuent à composer.

Ce projet s’inscrit dans la recherche doctorale en Arts et Sciences de l’Art menée par l’artiste entre l’ARBA et l’ULB à Bruxelles : « Nouveaux genres d’écoute: voix, corps, silences et territoires ».

Anna Raimondo completed the MA Sound Arts at the London College of Communication (University of the Arts, London) and she is running a practice based PHD between Arba (Ecole des Beaux Arts) and ULB University in Brussels. She is co- editor of the radio and sound art’s platform Saout Radio, based in Morocco. She writes for the French radio art magazine Syntone. She has won the Palma Ars Acustica 2016 with her radio work “Me, my English and all the languages of my life” and the price of best soundscape with “La vie en bleu” in the frame of the sound art competition PIARS and has won the prize of the city in the frame of the contemporary art prize Mediatine in 2018.
