Based on the legendary Dartmoor story around Kitty's Grave. Folklore has it that Kitty Jay was a young unmarried housemaid who was betrayed by her lover after finding out that she had fallen pregnant after a vicious rape. In desperation she hanged herself in the outbuilding of a nearby farm and the body was disposed of in the usual barbarous manner of that time. To this day her grave always has yellow flowers mysteriously placed on it.
This folk musical with a book by Nick Stimson and music and lyrics by Annemarie Lewis Thomas adds a contemporary timeline to the legend, after all, love is ageless.
