Don’t call it a comeback!

While Alternative Blacks may be a new Podcast, the three men behind it — Rush, Ant P and B.Green — are veterans of the genre and three of the founding members of ABRF Roundtable, a former online radio broadcast that predated the current Podcasting wave.

So what is Alternative Blacks? 

Well, for starters, we are all Black, obviously. But, we don’t typically adhere to all the conventional norms, stereotypes and labels people try to place on people of color based on mainstream accessibility.

Listening to our show, you are just as likely to hear a spirited debate on who is the best Dragon Ball Z character as you are to hear our reactions to sports news, thoughts on the status of the culture, and unapologetically curt opinions on the latest in hip-hop.

Not only are we diverse, but our content is too.

If we had to describe ourselves, and our show, in one word, it would be: “Sophistiratchet.” 
This means we are the type of dudes who use multi-syllable words casually, go to brunch and drown in bottomless mimosas, but still have no qualms about going to hood clubs or finding the highest quality du-rags and cocoa butters.

Destined to be inspired by his North African and European background singer, songwriter and guitarist, David Zaoui, continues where his musical ancestors left off telling emotive tales of love, reflection and experience. One minute you’ll find your heartstrings being pulled and the next an uplifting desire to pursue ones dreams.
