Canadian guy, small town raised.  in and out of shit with the law growing up while living the hard life struggles pf everyday life.  Moved around allot, met allot of different types of people throughout my journey and some very interesting and intriguing none the less, plus to top it off I learnt allot of well needed hard lessons that contributed to the man I became today.  I've always been a fan of music but never had the thought of pursuing any sort of career or status within the music and entertainment industry up until about almost 7 years ago now, while living in western Canada.  Started off by jumping in head first and getting involved within The Adult Entertainment Industry, it lasted only 3 years up until I lost interest and decided to join a new type of business venture, one to have basically solidified my place and destiny within the music, modeling and entertainment industry.  Now at that time bought into a promotion and entertainment business (will leave name undisclosed)  learnt allot and made and lost my fare amount of money regardless my network was growing day by day and morphing into what it has become to this day, not only Nation-Wide but Globally!    4 years went by after countless adventures & journeys not to mention amazing memories, I finally decided to cash out and give up my share in the company and move on along with re invent myself relocating to a different area, city and province but chose to remain within Canada's borders.  Decided to get into beat making and continue writing poetry in my spare time as a hobby for a few years, regardless of me in the past dabbling in and out of music production for fun since I was 18 not taking it into effect that it was a growing passion.  
While quietly expanding my network and living day to day, I finally chose to start taking my hobby serious in 2015 which led me onto The True & Rightful Path that I'm on today!  
Well I am  here and  I have grown as an individual, a brand, an artist along with of course a Soul!!! ;)

Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Rick Laplante's involvement in the party scene began in London, ON in early 1992 as a partner of Prism Productions, a project committed to hosting intimate gatherings with good vibes and fresh music. Unable to resist the siren song of the turntables for long, Rick began basement DJing later in 1992, with his first professional gig the following year.

His main musical influences came through London's proximity to Detroit and Toronto, where frequent weekend visits to these cities exposed him to some of the most groundbreaking underground sounds heard in the world during the early 90's. Rick has now been professionally DJing for over 25 years.

Rick's preferred club style is anything that can be described as groovy and/or bouncy tech-house, yet he also draws influence from his eclectic music collection - with flashes of myriad genres, ranging from techno to disco, breaks to jazz and from latin to lounge. He hasn't forgotten his musical roots from running the Detroit-Toronto corridor for years, either.  You can always expect the unexpected while Rick blends several different auditory flavours into his Dj sets.

Rick is active in the local scene of our Nation's Capital.  He promoted a weekly afterhours event, Sunrise, for its run of over 5 years, and now with his current promotions company "Framework Music", hosts Sunday Sessions, a long weekend Sunday dance party at Ottawa's legendary Mercury Lounge, since 2015.  Since 2017, Framework Music continues to host Ottawa's only legal and licensed all night dance event, White Rabbit, on 2 to 3 Saturdays every month inside City At Night.  2020 sees Rick start a less than monthly Saturday night residency at Mercury Lounge.  

As well as promoting events, Rick has performed many out of town gigs, from Montreal to Toronto, Boston to New York City and across north eastern North America.   Rick now has his sights firmly set beyond Ottawa's city limits by starting to delve into production work, with aspirations of launching his own label in coming years.
