Man With No Shadow – shady name for a respectable artist. Throwing legendary raves and rocking dance floors for the past decade, he has earned his stripes as an icon of Dutch club culture. Known as a DJ first, he’s made some big steps as a producer recently, finetuning his ‘positive take on techno’ with releases on labels like OFF Recordings, Drumcode and 100% Pure.  

Eventually, it was his his ‘Drumfeld EP’ on 100% Pure that became his breakthrough as a producer and a career-defining EP. The release got massive international feedback and scored for weeks in Beatport’s techno charts. Musically, it stood out by combining the power of techno and a rave-inspired touch. Altogether, feeling like a soundtrack for the warehouse years with GZG – the organization he entered the scene with in the 00’s, throwing notorious raves.  

As co-founder and resident DJ of these infamous GZG parties, Man With No Shadow  made an impact on the Dutch scene. An entire generation of underground clubbers was inspired by their raves in old warehouses and deserted factories. To this day, the parties are talked about and it was here that his so called ‘formative years’ as a DJ took place. Evolving into a blend of silk-mixed house and techno which he played at every relevant club and festival in The Netherlands. 

The last years marked a new chapter of Man With No Shadow’s career as he invigorated his focus on music production. After the ‘Drumfeld’ highlight he answered with a release on OFF Recordings, continuing the techno approach with a freaky twist. The year 2018 saw another EP on Misfit Music and an addition to Drumcode’s A Sides compilation with ‘Manila’.. an out-of-the-box track that makes you wonder what’s next.. Stay tuned.

In the heart of Amsterdam West lies a gem, hidden underground, that comes to life during weekend evenings: a streaming studio, equipped with top notch DJ gear, professional video equipment, light robots and bombastic speakers; it’s called The Bassment and for the past couple of years it has been hosting an excellent roster of national and international DJs, in different formats but always very Techno-oriented: a delight for any techno-head alike.

Along its evolution is the award of the official ADE yellow cube, making The Bassment a relevant pin in today’s #Mokum map of underground venues.Mind Your step, curator and owner of this cozy but vibrant space, is a long time Techno lover and, as such, he’s a supporter of the earlier Techno sound; but his fascination with all things electronic has kept him very much up with current times. His personal setup is made to live edit tracks as he plays, creating brand new music from existing one, for a whole new listening and dancing experience. Sound wise, he likes it pretty mental, marbled by pounding 4/4 beats to balance an otherwise very hypnotic sound, pushing both mind and body to dance.

The Bas[s]ment is an intimate, raw and underground club-like venue, located in a large industrial building in Amsterdam-West.

The Bas[s]ment is founded during the first Covid lockdown time. The concept was to give DJs a place to express themselves during Covid lockdown thru live streaming. Since we started more then 125 dj's from all over of the world played at the bas[s]ment. Although the Bas[s]ment started out small with only one camera and a few lights, it has evolved into a complete studio set-up with 4 full hd cameras, stunning visuals, a kick-ass high-quality sound system and a club-worthy light system. Recently we've decided that music is always better 'shared' with dancing people. So we've evolved again. We now bring you the possibility to have a live audience present during your DJ sets, in boiler room-style. The last 2 years we were also selected as an ADE official venue! ARE YOU READY? to dance on Techno-tv?

λ (Anonymous Function) is the solo project of Reinier from @dasmanier, devoted to the raw, hypnotic essence of techno. Inspired by the temporary nature of the anonymous (or lambda) function in programming, meaning 'created, executed, and gone without a trace'. λ (Anonymous Function) embodies the same ephemerality on the dancefloor.

Each set is tightly woven: evolving textures, repetition, loops, and pure collective immersion. λ (Anonymous Function) performances are unrepeatable, existing only in the moment.
