The Ape Suit project is the musical exploration of Corey, a human from Earth (probably). Corey enjoys nature, art and kindness. He is most fascinated by human’s being, interesting textures, abstract rhythms and frequencies between 30-100hz. In the dream world Corey collects financial stability as a live sound engineer and has developed a life focused on the sonic universe and artistic expression.

The Ape Suit palette takes influences from deep 140, minimal dnb, breaks, left-field trap and avante garde noise.

Motion Notion main stage set 2024 “Brunchstep Vol. 1”

This year I got asked to showcase some of my more emotional. chill music, that I produce (and mix). At first I took it as a hit to the ego, not playing my usual midnight massacre of beats, but then I realized I had a job to facilitate an experience, and felt honored that I had been asked.
This is a much different journey than the ones I have previously taken you on, this is much like my mix in the Shapes series.
Thank you to Byron, The Grove, and especially the whole team at The Secret Garden. Not only did they make it sound immaculate, they also recorded the set for me. It wouldn't be here without them.

Stepping up for Sublimix episode #148, Co-founder of streetwear brand and event production company; Swerve Supply Co. out of Calgary, Alberta, Jay one has a deep contribution to the North Western bass scene . Most recently coordinating the monthly Swerve Mix Series, his love for creating community around music is evident. Jay One grew up with roots in hip hop culture - carrying over to his trap flavoured style today. Heavily influenced by forward thinking bass music & rap lyrics, he rinses a wide range of genres including trap, hip hop, bass, dubstep, footwork & half time. Passionate and polished, his track selection is always mindfully curated to create an energy that is felt by all. Jay One puts the decks to work, moving through mixes at provocative velocities.
