Hearth is my music project, of which has been inspired by music and sounds throughout everyday life.   

All of my tracks are uploaded as a lossless and all are free for you to download either on this site or my Bandcamp page.

Main influences include sci-fi, nature, games, post-rock and Carl Sagan.

I use Ableton 9 software to record, mix, master. If you wish to use my music in your own projects, or just want to get in touch, just pop me a message or email me at: hearth_music@hotmail.com  

Currently Hearth consists of myself, although my brother has managed to pitch his thoughts on a couple of tunes now and then. I hope to expand and am open to collaborations.

with over 15 years experience working in film and television as an editor, director, filmer and composer, Mark Roberts has always been fascinated by sound and vision and how they work in unison. How they can influence one another and seeing the music as well as hearing it is an essential part of the creative process.  Having performed as a bass player for more than a decade and after a move from Greater London to the South Coast of England,  to the vibrant city of Brighton he focused his attention on recording and producing. Spaces, places, landscapes and worldwide travel have all influenced 'VISTAS' from the epic plateaus of northern Argentina echoed in 'Land of Silver' to the cyclical life of 'The River' and finally the uplifting and heart felt 'The Homecoming' concludes the album with strings by Jote Osahn (Cinematic Orchestra, Elbow, Snow Patrol). 
VISTAS draws influences from composers such as John Adams, Nitin Sawhney, Leo Brouwer, Terry Callier, Gustavo Santaolalla and Mark's broad spectrum of musical tastes. With guitars as his main writing tool, Mark uses very simple initial ideas that grow in layers and textures that take the listener to vistas of open spaces.
