Southern Love

Once upon a time not too long ago, a music friend in Kathmandu gave me the stems for a song he was working on. It was the "studio" version of Shreeti Pradhan's Ujyalo Junkiri (actually, I'm not so sure if they ever released that one haha). It has flute, percussions and all that. I discarded everything, kept the vocals and keys. Flipped, re-arranged and re-worked the track, and it became this.

Kupu Kupu Malam (remix)

Roughly 60% of my recorded solo set during City Roars Festival at KLPac on 12th Jan 2019, organised by Soundscape Records. Edited for smooth transitions between songs and omitted tracks with technical glitches / not ready to share.

Everything you heard came from Korg Electribe 2 and Korg Volca Keys, with a little bit of effect from Strymon El Capistan and Pioneer XDJ. This is a preview of the upcoming EP, to be recorded in a band set up.

Wrote the melody during my stay in Kathmandu and completed the song in my apartment back in Kuala Lumpur. The title of this track means "Good Night" in Nepali.

Subha Ratri

Another Universe started as a solo bedroom project when Sazali Hassan (bukan nama sebenar) discovered music software in 2010 to create royalty-free background music for his videos.

He took the hobby seriously when he left Kuala Lumpur and his job as TV producer to travel the world (2011 - 2015). Influenced heavily by improvisation spirit of jazz musicians and dub reggae engineers, and random jam sessions with traveling musicians he met while being a vagabond, the project later expanded into a live band (fully hardware - no laptop) set up when invited to perform at Sime Darby Arts Festival in 2016.

In its current line up (2019), Another Universe consists of Sazali Hassan (songwriter, beats, synth, effects), Kent Lee (bass, synth, charm), Hana Halilintar (keys), and Leaism (vocals, effects).
