Tesla

Ansomia is an Anglo-Italian Rock Band from La Spezia with Dario Cambiaso on guitar, Giacomo Lomasti on bass and synth, Iacopo Iorio on drums, and singer songwriter James Manzini on vocals and guitar.   
When the band started in 2008 with the original line up of Timo Orlandi on bass and Edoardo Galletto on drums, it was all about live gigs; three years later Lomasti and Iorio would join the band. 
They opened for Popa Chubby, The Treves Blues Band, Eric Lugosch, Matthew Ryan, Hussy Hicks, Pan Del Diavolo and Zen Circus. They rehearsed and recorded demos in their home studio: a 20 square meter room in a converted warehouse. It was the headquarters of many bands; a place where you could make music at any time, night or day. The dirty chalk building was surrounded by stacks of containers waiting to be shipped, and recording sessions were often interrupted by lorries driving up the uneven road, making the three storey building shake like crazy. This was where the local Indie scene was happening.
  
They were making music and connections, eating at a shopping mall, taking it in turn to sleep on the couch or on the floor and playing gigs.  

In 2013,  Ansomia were on stage at the Arezzo Wave Love Festival and the Music Italy Show in Bologna. They had just announced the release of their official debut album - 14 tracks that would never go public, because the band broke up. 
Thus began a long period in which the members of Ansomia followed their individual paths. It was time of personal growth, soul healing and artistic evolution. 
In the summer of 2018 the four friends reunited for a jam. They reminisced and played their original music, but also swapped ideas and began compiling together new songs, through which a different path emerged. Now ten years older, they have a darker sound, characterized by dropped guitars, snare wires off, a synthesizer, and lower vocal pitch.

BIOGRAFIA
Ansomia è una rock band originaria della provincia di La Spezia composta da: Dario Cambiaso (chitarra) Giacomo Lomasti (basso, chitarra, synth) Iacopo Iorio (batteria) James Manzini (voce, chitarra). Il progetto nasce nel 2008 da un’idea del cantautore italo-inglese Leonardo James Manzini in arte James Manzini.

Quando gli Ansomia iniziano a suonare, nel 2008, la formazione è differente, con Simone Orlandi (basso) ed Edoardo Galletto (batteria); a quel tempo prediligono un approccio live; tre anni dopo Lomasti e Iorio si uniscono alla band. In quegli anni aprono a Popa Chubby, la Treves Blues Band, Eric Lugosch, Matthew Ryan, Hussy Hicks, Pan Del Diavolo, Zen Circus.
Registrano i loro primi demo in una stanza di 20 m.q. all’interno di un magazzino industriale convertito in sale prova circondato da pile di containers; le registrazioni sono spesso interrotte dagli spostamenti delle gru che fanno tremare l’edificio.
Dal 2008 al 2013 questo è il loro quartier generale, in cui poter fare musica a qualsiasi ora della notte e del giorno, viene soprannominato “la clinica” ed inizia ad essere il punto di riferimento per numerose band locali. Molto presto viene a crearsi una situazione musicale comunitaria, si svolgono jam sessions, concerti privati e collaborazioni artistiche.

Nel 2013 gli Ansomia sono sul palco del Arezzo Wave Love Festival e al Music Italy Show di Bologna; in quel periodo annunciano l’uscita del loro primo disco d’esordio, un album da 14 tracce che non viene pubblicato a causa dell’improvviso scioglimento della band. Questo segna l’inizio di un lungo periodo in cui i membri del gruppo seguono ognuno il proprio individuale percorso musicale, sono anni di crescita artistica e personale.

Nell’estate del 2018 i quattro amici si riuniscono per una jam che segna l’inizio di un nuovo percorso. Ora a 10 anni dalla loro nascita, gli Ansomia hanno un sound più denso e scuro, caratterizzato da chitarre in drop, rullanti senza cordiera, un synth e linee vocali più cupe.
