Yesterday while I was processing this sound I saw a butterfly during a break from the experiments .. and it suggested the title for this wonderful soundscape.

The Drunken Flight Of A Butterfly Under A Warm Autumn Sun

Slow and relaxing track I composed to keep developing my skills of air control and timing. I tried to let the headjoint do it's job and give the digital effects room to breathe.

Sometimes I focus too much on controlling the metal tube attached to my face but when you play flute it's an extension of not just your hand but how you breathe as a human being. It's quite intimate and not always so easy to produce song with the ease of breathe I am grateful to have everyday.

When I look up there, 
all I know is that I'm seeing it so clear
standing on the ground and looking up at the night sky
with my telescope and seeing stars like small flashlights
moving round

I see something up there
if I stare as long as I can
I'm holding back emotions when I make calculations
of varying degree and time
With my home-made telescope, 
I see multitudes of realms that might hold the key to existence
Looking down I see the fireflies and moths
like planets in the dark
searching for moonlight

I'm tracking a comet
where it's from is vastly distant;
elliptical, aperture adjustment, 
on the orbit's perihelion
it's wayward journey to come back to the sun
and the earth that we live on,
full of live like a breathing organ
Whales sleeping in the deep midst of fallow seas and
shores with sprouting trees and rocks that have watched
the lives of countless striving souls to arrive,
and, we're here too

In the bright Milky Way
something's up there,
in the arms of our spiral
I'm watching with you
amazed and bewildered
at all the time spent just chasing shadows
all the years went with all the sorrows
hoping something would save tomorrow
finding the signs like notes in bottles

And the dawn's shining with velvet light
the night is almost gone
the canyon of the cosmos is a flame
that will rise once again
tonight

Paled by the ocean
amongst of the the shadow 
of the lighthouse
everything is blurry and changing
life seams sprouting all around
I have my journal
pages of nonsensical
letters that gallop into the waves
eyes sprawling out with this passionate setting
wondering where my trek down the shore will lead
I've awaken 3 times now.
it's a distress to find them gone...

I've awaken paled by the ocean
amongst the shadow of the lighthouse
Walking in the same shoe prints
a game of sidewalk hopscotch in the sand
it shifts as I try to make it stay
to subside the boredom down the beach
what's the point?
where's the end?
I'm always here trying to copy another

I've awaken paled by the ocean...
I never get far from the lighthouse
but you made it 
I have to believe that

I start counting the steps now
again and again...
off the lighthouse
will it ever be different
or will be continuous
of the distance of someone else's success?
It's all still dripping
