Over the last few months we’ve been working on a project that aims to raise awareness of an issue that keeps losing public awareness. In the hope of finding safety and protection in Europe and a fair asylum procedure, people are forced to cross the Mediterranean Sea in unseaworthy boats. Not only are state authorities and the European Union refusing to provide humanitarian aid, they are criminalizing civil sea rescue.
Because of this ongoing situation, we have started another fundraising campaign in order to make a small contribution to the essential work of Sea-Watch e.V. Their main goal is to try to save as many people as possible from drowning in the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, they are committed to educating people about human rights violations at the European borders, for example with their podcast “Grenzerfahrung”.
We collected a variety of sounds by eight beloved artists to present our very first Various Artist EP: “Passages”.
All the collected proceeds will go straight to seawatchcrew .

All the profits generated by the sales of this compilation will be donated to the Legal Team Antiraciste fund, which aims at helping the victims of french police violence and their families, fighting against systemic racial discrimination as well as defending their access to fundamental rights.

➜ The second track's title, "剣片喰 (Kenkatabami)", is based on the sword, an image that represents the shape of W.ANNA.W's family crest. 

Traversing ideas of personal history and tradition, W.ANNA.W incorporates taiko drums and koto to express a martial spirit, arranging these alongside a range of microsounds into a dramatic shape-shifting piece that brings to mind the organic thump of the gorge.
