Reda Saiarh's music is a blend of the old and the new. The Belgium-born, Geneva-based producer caught the music bug initially through his Moroccan father whose record collection was a treasure trove of classic new beat sounds. 

It's this iconic Belgian era that motivates Reda's musical ventures, but he always brings his own modern twist to the table, which sees him throwing fresh electronic sounds into the mix. 

When he's not hunkering down in the studio, he's keeping the spirit alive musically and culturally at Canal 54, the cafe he runs alongside friends Sam and Yacine in the heart of the city. 

Now, we first cottoned onto him after the release of his debut EP, Let's Dance, for Afrobotic Musicology and knew we had to work with him some way, some how. And so we did on his sophomore EP, Comfort Zone. Released last month on our sub-label Human Endeavour, which followed his track contribution to the imprint's first VA compilation, the five tracks showcases his unique and forward-thinking approach to new beat.

Off the back of his release, we wanted to show you that he's not only a dab hand in the studio, but also behind the decks. Bringing you a dose of the sounds that inspire his own productions, Reda packs this hour mix full of 80s goodness, oddball disco, proto house, and of course a whole lotta glam new beat heat...

Behind The Croons are Marijana and Lucas Croon, residents of Salon des Amateurs in Dusseldorf, one of the most known clubs for underground music. The duo is known for the energetic and sometimes contrasty back-to-back sets, which fulfill the space with novelty and leaves no one indifferent. Lucas Croon, composer, and producer is known for his band Stabil Elite, as a DJ who confidently moves around different genres of dance music and mixes them with his own, partly unreleased productions. His releases on Themes For Great Cities and Aiwo are decorated with Balearic, melodic and tribal tones which are sometimes going in unexpected directions. Marijana’s sets are fusing otherworldly sound designs with echoing percussion pieces and dark club music for the twilight hours, futuristic synthesized environments dripping with reverb and long echoes inducing trance states and transcendence. As a duo, they complement each other in a very elegant way and take you to different places, far away from apathy

Tech Support always finds a groove in everything he touches. Be that through his DJ sets, mixes or his own productions, there's a rhythmic fluidity and depth that always guides his way.

Our next guest on our mix series is one of Bristol’s finest selectors Chez De Milo. 

@ChezDeMilo has been a long-standing host of the Magic Carpet Ride Noods radio show, as well running the infamous Club Blanco parties. His productions have been turning many heads, releasing on esteemed labels like Futureboogie, Ugly Music and Disco Halal. His reputation as a DJ and producer has gained him slots at some of the worlds most reputable parties including the Meatshack in NYC Downlow at Glastonbury and Love International. 

This mix is a live recording of his set at the first of a series of collaborative events with brothers @viscera under Optick, playing alongside Felix Dickinson and Richard Sen.
