Mysteries is inspired by the darker sides of nature: eerie forests, dark mountain trails, mist-covered hills. The album ventures into evocative, atmospheric, yet also hopeful sonic territory, and is particularly influenced by the natural environment here in Hong Kong (including through the use of subtle field recordings). Featuring washed-out organic synths deeply textured soundscapes, and occasional piano and guitar elements, the overall intention with both The Mists of Time,  and the Mysteries album as a whole was to evoke emotions of wonder, intrigue and nostalgia.

"homework - year 8" is the eighth volume in an ongoing series of compilations which are released at the end of each year and gather unreleased tracks composed/recorded/tweaked/finalized during the year by as much taâlem artists as possible.

so once again, we've asked every artist who had a release on taâlem during these 22 past years to contribute a 2023 track.

we've received 71 tracks for this eighth edition. most of the contributing artists were already present on the previous editions (even on all of them for a few!) while others could unfortunately not make it.

as always, taâlem wishes to thank all the artists involved for their generosity, patience, trust and support during all these years.
and of course big thanks to our ever loyal customers too! we couldn't go on without you.

0uth returns to immersive love after a year — this time in a completely new, almost weightless form.

The album The Sun also Rising is an ambient drone journey created in 2024, during long train rides. The sound unfolds through slow motion — through fading landscapes outside the window, through quiet walks between carriages, through the muffled life behind each compartment door. Each melody feels like a passing reflection, a breath between stations. Music for those who wait for their destination — and for those who have long forgotten where they’re going.

After last year's sophomore release, The Faex Has Decimated, on Tympanik Audio, the Legiac project is back, but this time on the Russian based Dronarivm label, where the new album feels more at home. This time, the electronic duo of Roel Funcken and Cor Bolten take on a more meditative approach to their mildly glitch-infused, modular explored sounds, weaving in ambient textures, field recordings, and vast soundscapes. Titled after an early 15th century hand-written and illustrated codex, named after Wilfrid Voynich, the mysteries within this cryptic album can only be unlocked upon subsequent rotations, offering it up as a soundtrack to an enigmatic place, existing somewhere within imagination of these two prolific artists. The Voynich Manuscript slowly transforms its listener from a seemingly ordinary habitat, to a day-dream haze, to kaleidoscopic illusion - a sonic environment you thirst to visit once again...

This is the closing track from the next sleep album... It's an early track of mine, but it's one I've done a lot of work on, and I'm finally happy with it. ^_^ The album has a deep-sea theme...and so the snow in the title is actually..marine snow! 
My apologies if it sounds a bit harsh~

Mordançage is a new project from Tobias Hellkvist and Andrew Tasselmyer...  

The new album is a reference to the photography technique that creates  a degraded appearance in photo prints by physically altering film, a close metaphor for the way the album was created; manipulation of source audio and sound design creating a very different result.

Soundtracks for wandering souls.

Antarctic Wastelands is the ambient music moniker of Hong Kong-based producer Ben Tatlow. Focusing primarily on environmental themes of beauty, desolation and the diverse nature in between, his music has been described as “frozen ambient soundscapes that are meant to get lost within” by Rural Sounds, while Tone Harvest write that “its sights seem to be inter-dimensional in nature.”

Alongside Antarctic Wastelands, Ben produces music as @saltofthesound and @narrowskies with his wife @anitatatlow, as well as running the indie ambient label Echoes Blue Music.
