‘Kaisi Ye Jeet?’ was born from a place of questioning the meaning of ‘Victory’ and its significance when the war itself creates irrevocable damages, regardless of its result.

Revisited during the second wave of Covid 19 in India, this song became a tragic reflection of what we were witnessing and feeling. A bubble burst, the illusion of privilege some of us enjoyed, disappeared. Although there was a glimmer of hope that we hung on to after the wave subsided, the trauma of war in the form of fighting for hospital beds, oxygen, medicines and pyres was hard to let go of, and still is, months on. 

The shameless “victorious” chest-thumping of politicians after the cases naturally subsided has been hard to fathom, especially when we are leaving behind countless loved ones as either casualties, or as wounded by the system. We survived the battle, but the post-war silence is too loud to ignore - What is the meaning of this “victory” when at it’s very core there is little to no value of human lives in the face of agendas and propagandas of the powerful.

'Your Wilderness', their 11th studio album, showcases the band performing without any inhibitions providing a springboard for the ongoing creative growth of The Pineapple Thief.

For the first time, The Pineapple Thief has brought in several special guest performers. “Since our last album Magnolia, the most eye catching change is obviously having Gavin Harrison contribute drums throughout the album” explains Bruce Soord.  “This has not only redefined our sound but also redefined how we approached the songs as a band.  Gavin's drumming is technically brilliant but also incredibly musical, and it inspired all of us to raise our game.  I've also rediscovered my progressive roots in terms of song-writing and arrangement.  Added to that, we were lucky enough to have John Helliwell from Supertramp contribute some beautiful clarinet parts and Geoffrey Richardson (Caravan) provided a string quartet. We were also joined by a lovely 4 piece choir and to cap it all off, my friend Darran Charles (Godsticks) added some jaw dropping guitar playing... You've never heard a The Pineapple Thief album like this one!  I am convinced people will love this record as much as we do.”
 
The Pineapple Thief will be playing Be Prog! My Friend Festival in Barcelona, Spain on 1st July and is currently booking a European tour for late 2016 and planning live shows in USA / Canada.

Music composer, singer, and guitar player Varun Rajput’s brainchild, ‘Antariksh‘ is a premier Indian Rock/Pop act based out of New Delhi, India. Founded in 2012, Antariksh has been rated by MTV as one of the best Hindi Rock artists from India. Standing at the crossroad of some tasty melodies and spicy grooves, Antariksh creates a fresh, modern and progressive sound borrowing nuances from Rock, Pop, Reggae, Carnatic, Metal and Funk music presented in a cohesive and powerful manner.
