I was working on something that requires Henry's theme and felt bad because Henry's theme is never quite completely played in season 4.  The bit of his theme we do hear is perhaps my favorite bit of music in the series, so I started pining to hear the full thing.  The arrangement we hear is different from the one in season 3, so I took what we do have and modified my old season 3 theme to fit.  This is what I think Henry's theme sounded like, as composed, in season 4.

Henry the Green Engine's Theme (Season 4--The Theme We Never Heard)

I'm really proud this one, but it took a long time to make.  When I saw how long the video was, I got excited.  When I watched the draft video, I got VERY excited.  Fantastic Mr. M did a marvelous job of editing the video and it gave me lots of room to work with!  At first I tried to write a whole new main theme, with absolutely no success.  After several attempts, I just decided to jump in and go for it, to great success!  This is some of my best work, I think.

And here it is.  The theme that came so naturally except when I was actually looking for it.  It ended up being an ABACA format, but I was not able to get that particular line up to actually work.  This is just ABA format, with Henry's theme in there.  I love the Henry bits.  Also, this is my first time using marimba!  It sounds like Lion King toward the end there.

Once again, today marks this episode's 22nd anniversary of its first TV airing in the UK! I have always loved this episode, especially the Toby + Oliver theme mashup near the beginning, one of the most interesting and creative themes in the entire series. This episode also has a bit of a spooky vibe to it, an excellent start to a rather spooky month.

I'm very excited... I've got very big plans for the rest of October. I won't be uploading anything tomorrow, but you can expect Cranky Bugs on October 3rd!

Toby's Discovery • PERFECT Instrumental

Today is this episode's 22nd anniversary of its first TV airing in the UK. Another really good Season 5 episode. This one gets me all fired up! ;)

My friend Christopher Bouchard (also known as MysteryMan_17 of twitter dot com) requested this instrumental from me in 2015... I finally got around to it 5 years later lol

The two 'fire' themes are a lot of fun, I love the added James melodies on both of them.

Fun fact: The theme at the end is the same as the theme at the ending of Thomas and the Special Letter, only differences being sound effects and this one fading out a tad bit earlier than the Special Letter variant.

Season 5 is halfway done! You can expect a new dubbing track tomorrow.
