A true legend and pioneering figure of techno, US sound architect and Geophone label owner Mike Parker breaks in on the RYC waves with a very special set full with his idiosyncratically dark, obsessive, inch-perfectly chiselled 4x4 wares. Before Boiler Room and co. were even a thing, a pioneering platform going by the name of Studio R° used to broadcast techno sets by prominent artists from a secret location in Berlin. This iconic, vinyl-only mix is Parker’s Studio R° set from 2013, now fully remastered for your listening pleasure. Building atmospheres unlike any other, brooding and transcending in equal measure, Parker has laid the foundation to an exceptionally rich body of work. Master of the industrial vocab, peeping towards Detroit but with his defining spin on the early days genre, Parker entices us down the path of steely monumentality and laser-precise mind control. Just as typically mazy, his present mix conjures up all traits of quality Parker material: 909-powered propulsion, enslaving acid whorls, Escher-like fractals. Wild, wild ride ahead.

Hailing from Tokyo, DJ MARIA. has been making waves with her finely engineered mixes and exquisite selections, as much as a few head-turning productions for the likes of Katharsis and Proxima. Close to the original 90s atmospheric techno vibe, her approach shares that taste for spaciousness and sense-awakening uplift, fitting in nicely in the tradition of dub techno whilst opening onto more ambient-oid detours and further leftfield-friendly electronics. Delving in the essence of techno as a tool for emancipation, her mixes traverse a wealth of landscapes and territories, never quite sitting cozy but roaming in search of new forms to embrace, new geometries to integrate. A musical language in constant motion, where expectations wash up against the beauty of revelation.

Tras 10 años de carrera en el trance y numerosos logros, YUTA pasó al techno en 2015, lanzó Liquid Drop Groove en 2016 y comenzó a publicar música en formato digital y vinilo, podcasts y streaming de vídeo. Además, ha adoptado una amplia gama de enfoques para maximizar el potencial del sello, incluyendo memorables fiestas al aire libre como Agaitida (Okinawa) y EDEN, el festival indoor SPECTACLE y la serie de colaboraciones Bassiani Tokyo con sellos discográficos extranjeros.

La actividad principal de YUTA es la de DJ, residente en el conocido club VENT de Tokio. Su estilo musical se basa en el techno con deep/trancy e hipnótico/dubby, a veces con breaks y bajo, a veces tribal/acid en house, y se caracteriza por un groove psicodélico y un flujo cinematográfico que crea libremente. En los últimos años, YUTA ha realizado numerosas giras por Asia y ha actuado en el Quarry Stage de Wonderfruit en Tailandia, en los festivales Equation y Retreat en Vietnam, en los clubes SAVAGE y The Observatory en Vietnam, en Zhaodai y WIGWAM en China, en Acadana en Hong Kong, en Vurt en Corea, entre otros. En Europa, en Gare en Oporto, en aboutblank en Berlín, en KHIDI en Tiflis, etc., en festivales como Modem en Croacia y OZORA en Hungría. En Japón, en Rural y Moment, y en el legendario Future Terror de DJ Nobu. Y la nueva aventura continúa en Colombia, Sudamérica.

YUTA también ha proporcionado mezclas de DJ para NTS Radio en el Reino Unido, Monument en Noruega, Illegal Alien en México y más. Además, solo produce unas pocas pistas al año con el maestro modular O-MA.

The cohesive array of depth charged devices that Anthony Linell has produced is formidable. From his opening statements as Abdulla Rashim on his early label of the same name, right through to his recent work that puts his aliases aside, there is a robust and rigorous intent that compounds the elemental strategies of techno's models to apprehend his singular vision.

Presiding over Stockholm's Northern Electronics label with Varg (Jonas Rönnberg), Linell dispenses with mechanisms of attention on all fronts. Marked by an indefatigable self-reliance, the label presents exactly what it means to display, and no more. Carving an idiosyncratic platform for his music is as great of a warning as there could be that Linell's leveraging little toward the benefit of the audience. By his measure, the familiarity and comfort of contemporary techno is stripped back to its rushing heart, the senses left tailgating the strobe in a fit of intuition over decision. The greater this is exposed the colder it gets, and its in these extremes that Linell's caustic rhythmic precision hits. Live, it comes off as a galvanizing strike from the outside; analysing the room as a DJ, it's a case of being pursued through the dark.

Just as the brevity of Linell's output in the eyes of techno is exalted as it is brought into focus, the background to this blurs as you start to decipher his other projects. Lundin Oil skirts the fringes of noise and experimental music, and in collaboration with Varg as Ulwhednar, this is perhaps even more pronounced.

Purposively ricocheting between the techno world and experimental electronic music, Linell forges a distinct passage that gathers the aesthetically uncompromising motifs and missions from across this spectrum. It's this combination and resolve that's brought Linell to the world's attention, however little that attention has been solicited.
