BIOGRAPHY:
Rena Rasouli was born in Crete in 1990. She started playing the piano at the age of 7 and she attended singing, music theory and harmony lessons. She has been the lead singer in various bands in Crete. At the age of 19, she moved to Athens for "Theatrical Studies" at the "National Kapodistrian University" and she had the chance to attend acting lectures for two years with Sofia Filippidou.

At the moment, she is attending Singing lessons with Natassa Flouri at Studio Spot, Cello lessons with Aris Zervas and "Upper Theoretical Music Studies" at the "National Conservatory of Athens".

Since 2010, she has been collaborating with Nikolas Gale, both in the studio and in live performances...

Tripping balls with Music since Day 1, and loving every minute of it! I make music for the movies in my head.

Back in 1992 a great friend of mine convinced me to try playing the Bass so I could join a cover band he was starting. One year later I had pushed the notion to him that copying was far less rewarding than doing it yourself, and we founded Primitive Reason.

To this day I’m still going strong with Primitive Reason, although I try and ‘complete’ my need for a varied musical diet with other projects, of which most are solo experiments.

Although I started with the Bass Guitar, I quickly moved on to experiment with other rhythmic languages, particularly percussion. Although I am from Madrid, Spain and born of Spanish parents, my first few years were spent in Angola where according to what I am told I became ‘hooked’ early on percussive music. Still today this is the most important feature in musical construction for me, and so obviously all the music I write has a strong rhythmic component.

I’ve been recording albums since 1995, and there are more than 50 lbum releases to date that I can call my own, not counting studio recordings for other bands and projects.

Staying true to my nature as a musician I have dedicated most of my earnings to musical instruments and studio gear, so I am fortunate to have a massive collection of ethnic and modern instruments, and professional gear with which to mix and master it.

My interests are everywhere, which is, well…everything, but I do aim to write only unique and characteristic material.

Anthypnic Flow is a musical group from Greece that experiments in creating unique soundscapes to travel through. Their music balances between atmosphere and groove, relaxation and tension, east and west, night and day, dream and reality. To make this happen they use acoustic instruments such as flutes, ney, sitar, flamenco guitar, tabla, cajon and other percussion, mixed with the sounds of electric guitar and vocal improvisation.

Anthypnic Flow's music can be described as semi-acoustic ambient psychedelic worldbeat but, you know, words can only express labels indicating a meaning, never the meaning itself.

The group was originally formed in 2009 and through changes in time got its present formation in September 2011. During this time period, they have already performed at many gigs in various places in Athens, consisting mainly of original compositions along with a few 'AFised' covers.
