Originally hailing from the Bay Area, Sonic is an innovative and formidable vocalist and creative artisan currently residing in New York City. “New Club Waves”  is a sound mixed with  influences from various genres Calvo became fond of over a 21 year time span. 
 
With early examples created in 2015 , the style was officially established in 2018. CalvoMusic would go on to release on labels such as Emince Records, Night Slugs while scoring sets on radio shows such as KEXP, NTS , Rinse FM, Noods Radio, and various stations alike around the world.
