26 Year Old Hip Hop Artist based in the Derry/Donegal areas of Ireland.

Waking Android sees the coming together of two well known figures in the Belfast hip-hop scene, dsgrace & Kronus.  The latter, formerly known as Co-Kane, made his first appearance on the Roysta led Dirtcore Death Squad album 3 Way Face Fuck at the age of 13 and went on to be a prominent figure among local MCs and producers making beats for a variety of artists in the city and releasing The Arsehole of Nowhere mixtape in 2012. After stepping away from the mic and the boards for several years he is back, reinvigorated as Kronus and keen to make up for lost time.

Though he began writing and experimenting with recording as young as 14 (American accent EP with an online collaborator inclusive) dsgrace would stay quiet at open mics and events in the city, first coming to people’s attention with the release of the Noize Thievery produced album Adoxography in 2014 which was received to much acclaim. While gigging fairly extensively since his debut release, dsgrace too would take a sabbatical of sorts from new projects awaiting the right moment and inspiration after a few false starts.

Bonding over a taste in the same beats and boozing it turned out they were the catalyst each other needed and after moving in together work began on what would become Waking Android. Officially formed  in October 2016 with two tracks rushed together in time to perform a joint set at Portrush hip-hop event GYRO3 the pair never looked back and set to work on crafting their debut EP, Adrenochrome.

After trailblazing live events all over the country in the lead up to the release, Adrenochrome arrived in July 2017 to much fanfare across Irish hip-hop and beyond. Always only intended as a precursor to something bigger the pair are certainly not resting on their laurels with work already underway on the full length follow up which is penciled in for a Summer 2018 release.

Outside of creating music, the pair are also heavily involved with the team at Antidote EmCees under the Elixir banner, striving to bring the best live acts from Ireland, the UK and beyond to Belfast. 2017 alone has saw the collective bring the likes of Jesht, Physiks, Shogun, Strange U & Grim Pickinz to the city from overseas while simultaneously shining a light on the ever blossoming wealth of talent from the island itself.
