From swingin’ Sudbury, Ontario, CA (nada), here come TOMMY and the COMMIES with their debut recordings for Slovenly Recordings, "Here come Tommy and the Commies!" “Here Come…” is 16 blistering minutes of hooliganistic mod-punk madness featuring Jeff Houle, also known as the sole brain behind budget rock cult faves STRANGE ATTRACTOR, and his brother Mitch, known ⅔ collectively as the power-pop force STATUES of P. Trash Records fame. 

Swagger drenched youngster frontman Tommy Commy recruited Strange Jeff by dragging him into a bathroom stall during a punk show, playing him an inaudible demo on a phone. The Houle Two agreed to join forces for Tommy’s first foray into the world of record making on the strength of giving “Spiral Scratch” era Howard Devoto a run for his dosh on the vox on any given holiday. This kid has GOT IT, BABY! 

In a perfect modern world, songs like “Devices,” and “Suckin’ In Your 20’s” would be massive chart smashes on the level of “Teenage Kicks.” Those days are long gone, but here we are in 2018, giving YOU what you need, and what THEY don’t deserve.

With clean toned electric guitar, a driving beat, and the smoky crooning of Tessa Murray, Black Lagoon contains the shimmering atmospherics Still Corners are well known for.  The cinematic video that accompanies the track finds the band on a journey from the desert to the ocean in search of a lost Eden. Filmed over a month in California, Arizona and Texas and shot on a small handheld cinema camera, the band travels across America in a white mustang convertible searching and reaching into the unknown."

this song reflects a brighter melody on a rather darker lyrical perspective... “i’m dying with something worth living for, the thought of hell has been killing me”, talks about facing the fears and horrors of life growing out of my adolescents. Which I would like to say is probably my favorite lyric i’ve ever written... Hope you think so too.

Lucky You

If someone asked me: "Hey, Gonzalo, what music do you like?", I could perfectly press play to any of the songs of Lachlan Denton (part of The Ocean Party, that prolific and wonderful Australian group that we've been enjoying these last years). Simple, concise songs, a little cheesy. With guitars that rock you and accompany you in your melancholy, without great fuss, without haste, with care. Songs that connect with the guitar indie tradition of my favourite groups: The Go-Betweens, mainly, Lloyd Cole, REM, Felt, Real Estate. It is a breakup album (the best ones, what are we going to do), developed in the room of his friend Ben Woolley. And so it sounds, sad, fearful and slightly hopeful. Anyway, I hope you like it, it's a joy to be able to release this record on vinyl and reactivate Bobo Integral three years later.
