An-Ting's Electronic Compositions [Work in Progress]

Dawn is an electronica soundscape created from natural field recordings and audio effects. It is composed for HOME X, a hybrid in-person/virtual production combining music, theatre, gaming, and VR technology, premiering in the UK at Barbican in London and online worldwide in Feb 2023 (https://homexvr.com). 

The composer/director/musician An-Ting is a Taiwanese artist based in London and also the artistic director of Kakilang, an arts organisation supporting UK-based East and South East Asian artists.

Dawn 破曉 [Single]

Phoenix was composed for the hybrid in-person and digital gaming theatre, HOME X (https://homexvr.com). I used instrumental and natural recordings and added effects and created the music.

The music features Chinese instruments pipa and erhu, performed by Cheng Yu and Wang Xiao.

Voyage 迷航

This is a part of my 'Bird Catalogue' project where the music features the sound of Japanese Bush Warbler. The music was created with inspiration from the performance artist Xie Rong  (https://www.echomorgan.com/) and movement artist Masumi Saito (https://www.masumisaito.com/).

Drawing inspiration from the profound emptiness in Buddhism and the scenic beauty of Chinese landscape paintings (山水畫 shānshuǐ huà), this innovative piece invites contemplation on whether it's a tangible exploration or a voyage of the mind. The electronic soundscape, rich with ethereal tones, blurs the lines between reality and the surreal, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.

An-Ting is a pianist, composer and multidisciplinary artist. Originally trained as a concert pianist, she started to explore electronic music since few years ago. She is currently collecting natural sounds wherever she travels and creating music with them to share to people.
