In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Japan became the birthplace of a distinctive and intense form of psychedelic music, emerging from the underground scene and centred around pioneering labels like PSF Records. This movement was marked by a raw, dissonant, and fuzzed-out sound that combined elements of noise, free jazz, and traditional psychedelic rock. 

This two hour show documents the sounds of several key bands that played a significant role in shaping this unique musical landscape such as Fushitsuha, Les Rallizes De Nudes, Shizuka, Acid Mothers Temple and more.

Not a Morning Person ep22 — Angela invite Tryphème

"Der Baum" (Liv Billerbeck, Billo (billotontraeger.bandcamp.com/album/die-letzten-ecken-talisman) wurde improvisiert für die Installation "Die Ruine die spricht" - von Sven K. und Maximilian K. (diemassnahme.org/kassettenfirma, https://niederschriftenvonanhaengernniedererinstinkte.org/ ). Gezeigt in Nürnberg  vom 16.-20.07.25 - gemeinsam mit anderen Hörspielen in Form einer Hörspielburgruine unter freiem Himmel.

Das Hörspiel wurde hauptsächlich mit Stimme, einem Keyboard  - bei dem die Batterien komplett alle waren und zwei älteren kurzen Synthieideen, die sich noch auf dem Mobiltelefon befanden, hergestellt. Text und Sounds wurden improvisiert am 9.07.25, aufgenommen in einem Bett in Berlin. Es wurde nicht weiter bearbeitet und improvisiert belassen.

q. pls introduce yourself:
I’m Soria, I’m an artist and musician from Ireland, living in Berlin at the moment. 

q. is there a story behind the mix?
I wanted to tap into a vibe of strength, passion, intrigue. Also wanted to keep it fairly loose genre wise and true to what I’ve been listening to and the mood I’ve been feeling. 

q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?
Defo a solo headphones moment, maybe a long journey home. Like after exiting a situation…

q. describe a favourite object in your living room...
I think this vintage Avon perfume called “Precious Doe” my sister got me a few years ago. It’s long empty but the deer shaped bottle is so beautiful as an ornament. I think of her every time I see it. 

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?
I rarely make music these days and when I do it’s very sporadic, but I definitely find myself excited by collaborations at the moment. I’m really excited to mix down the recordings of some shows with Jennifer Moore in Dublin. We’ve been friends for so long, beginning to work together was so inspiring this year.
