I hadn't a written a song in a few years and was going through a dry spell. I randomly met Darren after a night out on the town...probably outside Hillbillys :)

I knew Darren from 1st Year in school. He told me he wrote poetry and we should write a song together. We exchanged details and he sent me 'Far away'. On completion, this song had unlocked a level for me. I could write again. I owe him a lot for that. This song put me on a road that I thought had closed and I will be forever grateful. 

I recorded this on a Tascam 8-Track recorder with no drums at the time but I had no click track and was never super satisfied with the end product. FInally through the power Logic Pro I have some drums on board and the timing is better

Far Away '21

‘13’ is a song about change, how you have evolved from when you were 13 to who you are now. It poses the questions are you happy with who you have become, have you accomplished the things you thought you would, and what is stopping you from making 13-year-old you proud?

I wrote this single for my nephew on what would have been his 13th birthday. It explores ideas around the innocence of youth, the experience and privilege of growing older, and appreciating life’s lessons.

Antóin Corbett is an Irish Musician. A Graduate of Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa's 'Music, Management and Sound', Antóin and his brother Cian fronted Cork band 'The Sneakies'. He gigged on the Wedding band circuit for a few years before pursuing a bachelor's degree in music and progressing to a Professional Masters of Education at University College Cork. 
Antóin is now a Secondary School Music teacher and still writes songs, most recently for playwright Justin Irwin's three consecutive plays; 'Cheat', 'My regards to Mae' and 'Lunch on Lennox Street'
