Famous for both his incredible music collection ranging over many genres and the stellar Cabinet Records imprint founded in 1995 with Daniel Paul and his own Ground Service started in 2017, ZKY's  experience, music taste and great flow shine through in this mix of house classics and great releases of  his own. The Cab Drivers ZKY and Daniel Paul have both thrived from the Berlin Underground in the early 90′. Their fuelled energy and thriving groove always guarantees a good dance.
Well known for their exquisite collection and big range of genres, they cater the clubs with a particular and peculiar vibe, making each of those dance floor moments unforgettable.
Since 1992 the Cab Drivers create an outstanding and incomparable style, constantly contributing to the scene and making a name for themselves.
In 1995 they founded their legendary Label Cabinet Records which goes along with great artists like Brawther, Audio Werner, DJ Honesty, Youandewan and many more.
The creation of the label has made them the first to forge a new aesthetic in house and techno music. Advanced 909 programming, a clean minimalistic sound design with straight forward patterns and subtle lines of funk and latin melodies are shaping their identity. And of course driving baselines.
In the same year the name of the Cab Drivers were born: “After releasing under our aliases like Horsehoe, Abrax, Princes, Karo, Feeding Cup and Compass to name a few, we thought it was time for another alias Cab Drivers: cab the short form of cabinet + drivers – we who drive the label”.
Since their foundation 25 years ago, Cab Drivers have put a string of releases on numerous labels, including their own Cabinet Records and its sublabels Eclipser Chaser, Rund, Ground Service Records, which still shape us musically today.
Releases on reputable labels such as Stickman Records, Plus 8, Dance Arena Productions, Elecktrick and 7th City, are just a few to mention.
They keep those 12-inches coming in forms of countless remixes on imprints like One Records, Politics of Dancing, Cosmo, Invade, Djebali, Pets, HedZup, Berg Audio, Constant Sound and more.
Collaborations with relevant artists like Chez Damier, Daniel Bell and Politics of Dancing are a strong impact even today.
Defined and driven by curiosity the Berlin Pioneers have been performing as professional live acts as well. Without any doubt playing live is still a sophisticated and rare domain to perform. Addicted to music and djing they keep a high level in the league. Their ability to give a free rain to desire and creativity allows the power of invention grow and flourish.
While serving dancefloors as live & DJ acts around the globe, Cab Drivers quickly shaped a peculiar sound niche of their own. Tresor, Heideglühen, Fabric, Sankeys, Rex Club, Fuse, Harry Klein, D-Edge, Gazgolder, Club Guesthouse, Le Journal de la Musique, Studio 338 or Pratersauna are just a few clubs to mention.

This week’s Local Selection Mix comes from Belfast born, Berlin based talent AOIFE. Fresh off the back of a debut in Tresor, AOIFE has supplied a 90 minute thriller full of twists and turns from groove, loops, bloops, EBM and slamming techno.

DJ, event promoter, international publicist and label manager- AOIFE has confirmed her own place in Europe’s dance music community.

The Belfast born, Berlin based talent has firmly integrated herself amongst a variety of parties, starting a residency with Germany’s Ravescape and having regular appearances with UK party starters Ape-X. AOIFE has formed an unapologetic approach to DJ sets, focusing on the sounds of untamed techno, driving electro, ebm and dance floor euphoria. The self-taught DJ has already appeared on notable platforms like Rinse FM, RTE Pulse & Kanal 6.

After being tipped as ‘One To Watch‘ on Behind The Decks in 2020, AOIFE made a move to Berlin and has continued on an accelerated progression, rubbing shoulders on line ups with the likes of VTSS, Manni Dee, Keepsakes & O.B.I. at clubs including Tresor, Khidi Club, Suicide Club, Digital & World Headquarters, Rote Sonne in cities such as Newcastle – England, Amman – Jordan and Berlin & Munich – Germany & Tbilisi – Georgia.

With a profound multifaceted ability, AOIFE strives to develop and mature her sound amongst the Berlin music scene, as she joins Percussive Agency. The future burns bright bright for this rising talent.

This is a mix of different tracks, moments, moods and sounds that I’ve been playing over the last while. I’m preferring longer sets at the moment and getting the chance to build on energies so that’s why this one has an extra half hour to a 60’minute podcasts as normal. Expect a bit of everything from groove, loops, bloops, EBM and slamming techno.

This weeks Mix Of The Week comes as a pleasant surprise, as Carlton Doom has been so kind to share his recorded set from the 2021 edition of AVA Festival with us. What a way to kickstart your weekend!

Carlton Doom needs little introduction, as he is one of the most talented artists that our island has to offer. Boasting an array of releases on labels that include Cheeky Music Group, Hypercolour, Hotflush, Deep Sea Frequency and more. He possesses a vast musical style, bundled with copious amounts of knowledge within music production.

The genre-merging producer has become synonymous with experimenting in different styles, mood and colours, while still portraying a somewhat identifiable sound, through warping synth lines and funked up broken rhythms.

This mix is a live recorded set from his appearance at last years AVA Festival, where Carlton Doom performed at The Baltic. At a time when this was the first proper outing for a lot of festival goers due to the covid restrictions that were imposed as a result of the pandemic. This recording also includes the audio from the crowd at the set, which makes it even all the more special.

All while encompassing an array of genres and anthems from start to finish, in true Carlton Doom fashion, this goes absolutely off. Check it out below!

Carlton Doom - Live @ AVA Festival 2021

This week’s addition to the Local Selection comes from Donegal native 666cmg. The young DJ & producer has supplied a trip through deep and heaving bass heavy sounds, showcasing grime, trance and two-step infused flavours.

Needing little to no introduction due to his lengthy artillery of dancefloor weapons, 666cmg decorates the Speed Roster with unyielding unique styles and a clear cut vision on the perfect underground sound. Quick and careful percussion, uplighting synth-work and mind bending concepts, the Donegal assassin is firm favourite for lighting up dancefloors with his fevered energy.

A flurry of free download releases and some notable appearances on Speeds Free Download series have mustered up a sizeable amount of traction around 666cmg. His most recent outing on Speed’s growing platform has nearly amassed 15,000 listens, and has acted as springboard for a busy few months of music releases.

​The young DJ & producer has showcased his comprehensive style of anthemic bass growling rhythms in an hour mix of dancefloor bliss. The Speed affiliated DJ starts moody and atmospheric with a selection of rolling techno grooves, before unleashing a powerful ensemble of big room synth lines, and grime influenced broken bangers. This is carefully constructed, and poignantly executed.

Local Selection 186: 666cmg

This weeks entry to the Local Selection Mix Series welcomes Irish techno heavy-hitter, Flores. Supplying just over 70 minutes worth of quality techno, traversing through funky and harsher sounding selections from the Tullamore native. Making for an acute listening experience. Dig into this!

Today we welcome Flores to the Local Selection Mix Series. The budding DJ and producer has shown to be a force to be reckoned with as of late, playing an array of shows spanning all across the country, including Galway, Limerick, Offaly, Dublin and Waterford.

Flores has had an exciting year, where he supported the legendary Mauro Picotto in Galway and sold out a co-headline Shed Residents show with Mav666 as well as a sold-out solo Cork headline show. This week he announced his Belfast debut at The Telegraph Building on St. Patricks Day next year alongside Mav666, joined by blk., Aeron XTC and more on the line-up. No doubt 2023 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Flores and we cannot wait to see him flourish.

Additionally, Flores holds a residency with CNTRL, a label and events collective that is Galway-Dublin based. CNTRL have made a valiant effort since entering the Dublin party landscape where they are eager to introduce a harder, more brass techno sound to the city.

Having recently run a hugely successful local party at The Grand Social alongside Hybrid Events where they had Jamie Behan b2b Jon Hussey headline for their first ever back-to-back. Since then, they have been trusted in providing a Room 2 takeover in Monroe's in Galway for Ewan McVicar and Dart, which turned out to be a massive success. They're now looking forward to their first Room 2 takeover in Index on December 27th with TRYM, where the reception has been massive.

If you are unfamiliar with Flores, whether it be his sound, productions or mixing capabilities, then you need to give this mix a listen. He has provided us with a recording that is nothing short of beautifully crafted mayhem. If you need a spring in your step, put this on. You won't be disappointed.
