It was new years day 2019 at Habitas Tulum, the day after a magical Mardeleva New Years set and party that took us from the night until sunrise.  
The plan was to decompress on the beach, the music started to play slowly, lightly and gently in the background. One by one the people gathered round, before we knew it, everyone was up dancing, singing, rejoicing and having fun as if it was the first party of the week. The sun was out, then came the rain, then more sunshine. We danced until sunset.

Habitas is all about music and community amongst lots of other special and important things. Together both music and community go hand in hand. That week, this day, this set holds great memories.

This year has been a sobering ride; it started with so much joy and adventure and then suddenly turned scary, strange, and unknown. This set follows our collective journey: dark, light, hectic, still, expressive, and reflective. 
What seems to be the most evident to me is that we are all connected, and to think that the sickness our planet was experiencing wouldn't affect us is naive. This is a time for her to heal and for us to go inward. To stop doing so much, and instead to listen.
