Christmas Time

This is a song you'll wanna listen to curled up in front of a fire with your loved ones. Make some cocoa and grab a blanket and turn up the sound.

This song came to me one cold winter night after my dad died and this year I bring it to you in all its Christmas splendour. 

I dedicate it to all of you who miss someone no longer here or who just can't make it home for Christmas, oh yeah and to Frank Sinatra who smiled when he heard my voice reach his ears up in heaven.

My song “The Proof” exists because of some very special people who have supported me on my journey as a singer-songwriter. I need to thank you for helping me launch my brand new single this weekend. Firstly, there’s the very talented Dan Meunier who agreed to help me produce this song and by adding his magical guitars. 🎸 Then there's Mallory Chipman who helped me craft my song during our one-on-one sessions in her capacity as musician in residence at the Edmonton Public Library. 🎶 A big thank-you also to Kyle Neufeld for jumping in with his sweet background vocals. Applause for James Seabrooke of Two Bodies of Water, for his awesome mixing and mastering skills. 🎤   And big thank-yous to my Riverdale friends and family - for their love and enthusiasm: Mike Lavoie and Faith Davis for their beautiful friendship over the years, who have encouraged me with every step I took. 👣  To Theresa Miceli and Rich Mailey who continue to cheer me on! To my sweet sisters and brothers and mama who have been my magnificent cheerleaders all along the way. 👏 To my daughter Charlotte who has watched me blossom into the musician I am today. 🌼  To my colleagues at LINC St. Basil who have supported me in ways I never thought possible. THE ALBUM IS COMING AUGUST 2nd!
As a child, I had a truly magical time with stories, and my mom reading them to me. The way she intonated and impersonated each character was just so fascinating to me. Her voice was the music I always heard before falling asleep, and as soon as I would actually fall asleep, the music kept going. Which was and still is sometimes a torture as much as a pleasure.

As an artist, I always come back to that child and those stories. They still resonate with me but on a much deeper level. The notes now combined with colors and smells, patterns become a dance or a soundscape rather than just a melody. So, I splash with my watercolors palette and watch the music as it merges with the world, and I invite the listener to this never-ending journey.

“The Little Prince” was one of my favorite stories, one filled with quiet moments and hidden meanings, mystery, and gentleness, and humor - the kind of story that haunts you all your life. This story holds a philosophy that I resonate with: I feel myself just like the main character - wishing to create my own worlds, organize my thoughts according to my personality, and not to be put into the frame of adulthood. I feel the rebellious urge to wake myself up from a grey existence and use all the colors, humor, sounds, and smells that exist in the story of the Little Prince.

It became even more special since my son was born. We painted the Little Prince on the window in a daycare room, the home daycare I used to run in our own house before embarking on the journey of a composer. At that time, we were surrounded by music and art all day long as my children grew up, and I was experiencing their enchantment with music and the Little Prince once more. In 2021 another miracle happened that was also related to the story: I received an email from Leipzig Ballet, asking for permission to use two of my compositions for their ballet show based on "The Little Prince". All that inspired me to write an entire album dedicated to the story.

I am extremely grateful to my family: parents, children, and a wonderful husband who allows my inner child to grow into an artist. I believe we all need the magic of a storytelling experience, and I tried my best to awaken all the senses into it.

Excusez-moi,chéri Frédérique,

  I was introduced to the  folkloric musical traditions as a young child. 
A London primary school  ,who favoured  the arts nurtured my curiosity,giving me the opportunity to play a wide variety of instruments including violin , percussion ,flutes  and singing too  I  participated  in a buoyant  musical and artístic community.
A  female music student from Kingston University London , who lodged  introduced me to the piano,  before I started at the local primary school.
After a wee while, 
  ,I was sent to take piano lessons from 
a   female Czsec piano teacher, who was  also a concert pianist . She took up the  unenviable task of training me in the classical piano music traditions and entered me to audition for a  junior  scholarship place at what is now The Guildhall School of Music , London .
 I was awarded a full grant  to attend by the London Arts council to attend.
The Grant include fully funded tuition on first study Piano and 2nd study Flute. Also included were  musicianship classes to cover aural training theory, extemporisation . composition  and orchestral  and choral participation.

Regular opportunities to perform in the classic salon  with ensembles  and as a soloist  in the main college was all part of the lively and cohesive musical community. 
All  learning materials ,scores were  reimbursed on submission of receipts to the  conservatoire's accounts department.
