Straight from the capital of Colombia, Brain is back with the drum and bass sound of Bogotá. Featuring collaborations with Dave Owen, Novaglitch, Asura & Yatuza, the 'Slow Burn EP' perfectly captures that unique vibe the city is known for. 

For the title track 'Slow Burn', Brain collaborates with Dave Owen, a producer he cites as one of his first influences within drum and bass. The modulation and tone gradually build throughout, slowly advancing as the sample-based drums and low-end wobble rolls out effortlessly.

In search of new production techniques with Novaglitch, Brain stepped outside of his usual comfort zone for the track 'Aslamiento'. The pair sought to channel the fury, anger and rage they feel towards the political situation within Colombia. Vocals from 'La Tele Letal' (The Lethal TV), an outspoken, nonconformist local television show, combine with analogue synth work to create this profoundly personal track. 

Asura and Brain's collaboration 'La Forma' delves deep into the exploration of frequency shifting and bongo patterns. This track was written during a hazy studio session and grew from Asura's modulated bassline, completed with Brain's precision drum work and arrangement. 
 
Yatuza joins Brain and Asura for the final track, 'Wavetable', completed during Yatuza's first tour of Colombia, travelling all the way from Argentina. Meeting only for the first time during this initial studio session, they completed the tune within two hours. Later the same evening they were able to test out the tune with the eager RE:SET crowd. It got such a good reaction it formed their long-lasting production trio.

2017 is set to be a defining year for Addictive Behaviour. Over the past few months the label has truly found its sound and we’re dishing it out relentlessly in the months ahead with multiple parties lining up alongside some boundary pushing music. Our second release of the year sees our predominantly tech-roller outfit return to vinyl ventures with a 3 track wax EP of epic proportions, mysteriously titled ‘New Age Myths’.

First up on the release roster is the illustrious Kyrist with her cryptic tale ‘The Drifted’. Opening with some incredible atmospherics you are instantly transported to an unknown land, like a ship that’s sailed into hostile territories. The cinematic production builds momentum before fading out with a haunting crash. Suddenly, out of the void creeps an intricate drum pattern with sharp synths cutting through, catapulting us into new realms. The sound design in this track is extraordinary, switching and fluctuating with every bar, captivating to the very end.

Next in this chronicle is ‘Basilisk’. A collaboration from recent Addictive production trilogy Data 3 and relative newcomers Revaux. ‘Basilisk’ entices you in with eerie vibes. A trickle of rasping hats and shuffles alongside airy pads swimming under the filtered surface. Then a human like cry fades out to introduce fierce bass and kick drums as this monster rears its heavy head. The track pulsates along with ferocity, the rhythm constantly flowing. You’ll find it hard not to give this roller the old D&B head nod. It’s sure to be shaking the foundations of dance floors over the coming months.

The final chapter is told by Mystic State featuring the gritty talents of MC Tension on the mic. ‘Blurred Vision’ creeps in slow and stealth-like before chopping in a heavy kick-snare beat. Then it’s over to the sharp tongued Tension to give it that murky vocal lick. “It’s action re-action, reload the ammo to obtain satisfaction” And satisfaction is bang on the money here, as we drop in to subby, gravelly basslines and hard edged drums that will make you want to reload this one for another dose of pure fire. Hard hitting expertly crafted D&B, the perfect fix for any addict.

The New Age Myths EP is a musical chronology that sounds like it’s been sent straight from the future. It brings together a pedigree of young talent, all of which are destined to become big in the game. To celebrate this joint effort release, we’re throwing a launch party for the EP on Good Friday. Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be (before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder).  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music. 

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival & DLR has only furthered Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem. 

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie & Bailey on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest appearance for DJ Friction on his BBC Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Tel-Aviv to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide.

Fast forward to 2017 and Ant is now responsible for the label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings. Having released numerous compilation series on Dispatch, the hugely successful “Transit One” & “Transit Two” albums (topping almost all the usual stores weekly dance music sales charts across all formats) and the more recent milestone ‘Dispatch 100’, the label features a fine list of consistently quality music from the likes of DLR, Break, Survival & Silent Witness, Marcus Intalex, Klute, Nymfo, AI, Zero T, Cern, Dabs, Skeptical, Dub Phizix, himself (and many more). Ant has remixed material for the likes of Cern & Dabs, Sunchase, Quadrant & Iris, Friske, Nymfo as well as having his own solo work remixed by Xtrah along with working on further collabs alongside the likes of Survival, Dauntless and DLR.

Ant is also the head of Artist Management at both Outlook & Dimensions Festivals, playing a pivotal role in bringing consistently strong Drum & Bass acts to the Croatia every year, earning back to back 2013 & 2014 “Best Festival” accolades in both the Festival Awards & the Drum & Bass Arena annual awards.
