For our final release of 2016, we are proud to have reached our milestone 100th Dispatch release, marking the occasion with a Various Artists’ compilation featuring some of our favourite producers from the past and present.

Celebrating some of the artists that have moulded the label today, whilst simultaneously showcasing upcoming talent, the album is split into two parts – the ‘Future Blueprint’; including original / newly remixed music from the likes of DLR, Skeptical, Gerra, Stone & Cern and the ‘Past Blueprint’; a selection of our best loved cuts from over the years, with numerous showings from Survival, Break and Zero T, plus classics from A.I., Marcus Intalex and Duo Infernale.

Reflecting on how the label and artists have developed together in time, further names appear on both Parts 1 & 2, including Script (on ‘Sahara’ with Survival and also the classic ‘Set Up The Set’) and label boss Ant TC1, alongside Chris SU and Stress Level first for ‘Waves’ and now, remixing Nymfo’s ‘Coming Through’ with Seattle duo Quadrant & Iris.

With special thanks to all the fans, press and DJs that have supported us over the years, we are thrilled to have made it to a century of releases; with so much good music around today, we look forward to sharing our plans for 2017 and on.

Lifestyle brings yet more Russians to the roster with the addition of Thematic, a producer & DJ hailing from St Petersburg, with a carefully curated two-track release on the label this Spring. Thematic is a relatively fresh name in the scene, but with tracks receiving support on Noisia Radio and Amoss’ wicked ‘Cranium Session’ series, his minimal techy style of production is turning heads, and picking him up a following online.

This release fits into the upwards trajectory of his production style, keeping it relatively stripped-back, while still remaining undeniably catchy and listenable. This release displays a unique style of minimal drum & bass production from Thematic, with tunes that will fit both headphones and a huge club system, the style is consistent and pure all the way through, one for the heads for sure.

The cross-continental sounds of Delta9 Recordings have been making themselves known over recent months. That’s due to the high-calibre releases they’ve been dropping onto a worldwide fan base, despite being based out of both Berlin and Bergamo, which both stand as two of Europe’s biggest cultural hubs. Founded in 2012, the combined influence of both cities have brought forward incredibly slick releases, with their dark, minimalistic and techstep sounds flooding the market and drawing a huge fan base towards the imprint. Their forthcoming EP from Lao Wai is likely to have the same effect, appealing directly to the heads and staying true to the underground realms which forged the label in its earliest days. Between ‘Physical Contact’ and ‘Hypernormal’, the drum & bass maestro proves why he landed a position within UKF’s ‘Ones to Watch in 2018’ feature, because his records are unshakeable, whilst progressing with an energy which lends itself directly to Delta9’s stellar back catalogue of music.

‘Physical Contact’ leads you into the fray, with sweeping atmospherics, slowly gyrating drums and moody percussion which hides underneath the mix. Slowly the track comes into play, taking you down a minimalist chasm streamlined by distorted vocal samples. ‘Birthplace’ follows the same manipulated moniker, with smashing hi-hats moving you through a progressing drop, one which leaves you freefalling against rolling breaks and an old-school vibe which doesn’t go unmissed. ‘Factories in Manchester’ submerges you into the deep end, with a bassline that becomes heavier layer after layer before you’re finally enveloped by its weight. ‘Hypernormal’ is the EP’s final addition, with clapping snares and a rhythm which skips between each beat pattern. The drums are cut-throat, with a jagged edge that juts throughout the track’s segments and presents a side of Delta9 which is clear competition for any of the more renowned imprints within the scene.

Delta9 Recordings are one of the leading independent labels to come through over the past twelve months and with each release they’re beginning to build on this reputation. With more music in the pipeline, their stepping it up another gear and 2018 will stand as a pivotal moment.

Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder.  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music.

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival, DLR & Philth has only furthered experience Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem with further releases for the label and counting going into 2024.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie, Bailey & Rene LaVice on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest DJ appearances for DJ Friction on his Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Vancouver to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide. Additionally for the most part of the decade beyond 2010 Ant also worked as the Artist Manager for both Outlook and Dimensions Festival in Croatia, leading up the booking process, budgets and travel aspects for the festival.

Fast forward through to 2024; Ant is now responsible for the lead label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings and is based in Thailand, with a purpose built studio room recently finished the plan (alongside managing a mass of planned record label releases) is to get back to focusing on writing music more consistently than he ever has previously.
