'Strange Days' the debut album from one of the standout Drum & Bass acts of recent years, due for release on the legendary V Recordings on 3rd December 2021. Featuring collaborations with Serum & Makoto, as well as vocalists including Riya, A Little Sound, Cleveland Watkiss, T.R.A.C., 2Shy MC and many more.

With support already secured from the likes of Shy FX, Bryan Gee, Fabio & Grooverider, Rene LaVice, Hybrid Minds, Serum, Randall and with a growing international fanbase at their back, Paul T & Edward Oberon's new album 'Strange Days' is set to be one of 2021's defining drum & bass releases.

Their recent run of singles, including two Beatport number ones and collaborations with vocal talents like Cleveland Watkiss, MC Fats, A Little Sound & Lorna Kings have given us a flavour of this monumental project. An eclectic array of influences from jazz to jump up have been filtered through the unique musical perspective of this duo to bring us something that we've never quite heard before.

Drum & bass has the capacity to deliver, on the one hand, soulfully emotive musicality and, on the other, sheer rave-inflaming filth. Paul T & Edward Oberon, however, have consistently performed the alchemical magic of bringing together both the music and the mayhem without compromising either.

But of course they have. Paul and Edward have years of experience creating music for some of the most prestigious labels in the scene and drawing from a myriad of influences. Individually, they have credits stretching back decades, and, as a combo, they've been dusting dances around the world since 2011.

Having won an army of new-gen fans with anthems like 'Stomp', 'Look for the Light' and the absolutely huge scene smashing Serum-collab 'Moon in Your Eyes', these veteran artists have wasted no time in stepping things up to even greater heights as they gear up to drop their album.

Balancing vibes and viciousness, 'Strange Days' lays out the definitive manifesto for Paul T & Edward Oberon's dirty soul sound. Operating as both a self-contained audio journey and a collection of rave-ready deejay weapons, this LP is a piece of work that demands your attention!

Hailing from the north side of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Jam Thieves has been operating as a solo act since 2020.  Looking to build on his renowned versatility as a drum and bass producer working across various corners of the genre, Jam Thieves’ solo work usually centres around his iconic minimal style – full of funk, vocals and an undeniably upbeat vibe. 

The title track ‘Mandrake’ is the perfect example of this new direction, building around a looping female vocal the track develops and drops into a heavy bassline roller led by the funk-fuelled staccato drum work that drives the tune through ever developing turns. ‘Moon Rock’ continues this theme with more vocal edits and progressive bass modulations. 

When combined with the head-down, tech-funk work out of ‘Savana’ and the guitar fused deep roller of ‘Mind Control’ the EP demonstrates the versatility of this talented producer. 

‘Machine Gun’, a killer collab with label favourite Nymfo, completes this spectacular first outing for Jam Thieves on the label.

When it comes to fat breaks and disgusting wobblers, there’s not many young artists doing it as good as Napes right now.

He first came on our radar when he bootlegged “Chem Trails” by Aries, Gold Dubs, Bevan and Andy Sim (Feat. Lion Art) – a tune we released as an official remix back in 2020 – and soon after the drum and bass scene began waking up to this awesome talent.

Don’t be fooled by his lack of social presence or the sporadic releases, Napes is sitting on some absolute fire right now, and Born On Road are gassed to be sharing it with you. Introducing his Chopper Gunner EP – five tracks of pure breaky, jungle goodness. It’s a release providing a fresh window into the direction for Napes’ sound, with grime influences wrapped in gully jungle blends. It’s some of the most unique music we’ve heard recently, and we have no doubt these tracks will be tearing up soundsystems far and wide very soon.

Ill Truth are no strangers to Skankandbass, having been featured numerous times since their first release on Lockdown Recordings in late 2016.  Despite the relatively short time since their debut, the Bristol natives have made a rapid rise through the ranks.  With appearances on Shogun, Symmetry, Fokuz and Lifestyle under their belt, last year they impressively curated their own VA album showcasing newcomer talent. Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder.  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music.

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival, DLR & Philth has only furthered experience Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem with further releases for the label and counting going into 2024.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie, Bailey & Rene LaVice on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest DJ appearances for DJ Friction on his Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Vancouver to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide. Additionally for the most part of the decade beyond 2010 Ant also worked as the Artist Manager for both Outlook and Dimensions Festival in Croatia, leading up the booking process, budgets and travel aspects for the festival.

Fast forward through to 2024; Ant is now responsible for the lead label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings and is based in Thailand, with a purpose built studio room recently finished the plan (alongside managing a mass of planned record label releases) is to get back to focusing on writing music more consistently than he ever has previously.
