Gerra & Stone return to Dispatch to join the main label, kicking things up a notch with their “Too Deep EP” dropping this Autumn. Following the huge success of their LTD debut “Backhand / Tenfold”, the Southampton based duo continue to raise the bar. Their first full Dispatch EP features four concrete rollers; each tightly programmed, each packing a punch at the lower frequencies, injecting instant stamina into any discerning crowd.

Title track “Too Deep” swoops down with deadly fervor and venomous low ends that twist and mature throughout, whilst “Long Game” strikes with ferocity and through to the rib cage. Mid-range growls resemble heated alien discourse, as the bass grooving subtly throughout.

Keeping the beats moody and no-nonsense, bongos lightly patter over “Lockdown” and sweet vocal washes argue with jeering and fermenting bass sounds. “Bus 54” strips to more abstract surface noises initially, but possesses a lethal edge that we have come to expect from Gerra & Stone.

The duo from Southampton are fast becoming artists to watch with material scheduled for Ram before the end of the year and another Dispatch release lined up for early 2015.

Wingz & Nosfer - Shallow

Since its first release, DLR’s Sofa Sound has firmly solidified itself, proving that they’re set to continue the growth of their spearheading roster. Whether it’s the artists who’ve previously collaborated with DLR on other, more-longstanding independents, or the producers who DLR has personally picked from the Sofa Sound demos box, there’s already been a high calibre of tracks unleashed on the imprint. And with their next digital single in the pipeline, their growth remains unstoppable, proving that their initial groundbreaking commitment is still being adhered to. 
Forthcoming from Sofa Sound is the brand new release from Dub Head; inherently underground, the Ukrainian based producer has already made his mark on imprints like Ant TC1’s Dispatch Recordings. ‘Meltdown’ and ‘Space Worm’ are technically brilliant and prove why Dub Head is such a coveted addition to the likes of Sofa Sound and Dispatch Recordings. The A-side ‘Meltdown’ is a heavily percussive roller, with clanking drums, tinkering hi-hats and floating note sequences which add to the lulling atmospherics of its introduction. But when the record finally breaks, cold pads and Dub Head’s signature funky bassline takes you to a much lower frequency. Minimalist yet throbbing with power, Dub Head shows that you don’t need to bow to commercial viability to make a resounding impact. 
On the reverse, you’re taken into ‘Space Worm’. Dub Head promises to continue his assault, providing another record which is effortless in its complexity whilst wrapping the listener around its thumping bassline. Hollowed snares and crackling instrumentals interfere with the composition like static, as the record slowly begins to unfold segment by segment. Its more distorted elements add a jutting layer, providing a siren like-feel on top of its heavy breakdown, providing another undeniably weighty release from Sofa Sound.

Since inception in 2010, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. ‘The Full Moon EP’ sees Philth & Wreckless join forces for a project created during two sessions at Philth’s studio. With their solo work making up some of our favourite tracks on the label, this combination of artists makes the EP quite special. 

Sharing a love of classic breakbeats and 1999 tech rollers, they made a conscious decision not to over-polish the mixes - keeping the raw edge to the drums and dirty bass textures. Aiming to bring back the rough feel of their favourite older tunes, with arrangements that roll out for the DJ's. 

During these sessions Wreckless noticed that it was a ‘Full Moon’, just as the title track was taking shape - a drum led track that grows and develops throughout, balancing layers of subtle additions to the driving weight of the tune.   

These concepts are reflected in the artwork, with the 'tech moon' representing the meeting of rugged natural sounds and modern technology.

Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 14 (since 1992).  His first release alongside frequent production partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be (before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder).  After their first release hit the stores they quickly picked up a wealth of DJ support across their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo Beats and Samurai Music. 

By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.  Branching out and working with other producers such as Survival & DLR has only furthered Ant’s skills at the controls over the years, Ant has also released his own solo material more recently on top of remixing for the likes of Lomax on Integral Records.  In 2014 Ant realised a lifetime ambition, securing his first ever release for the legendary Metalheadz label “Hungry For Atmosphere” alongside Mako, DLR & Villem. 

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix CD’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G.  Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the radio shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio, Goldie & Bailey on their respective BBC Radio 1 slots over the years as well as BBC 1Xtra where Ant once hosted his own one-off 4 hour show, he has since additionally made 2 guest appearance for DJ Friction on his BBC Radio 1 show.  His DJ’ing work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Sarajevo, Tel-Aviv to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK and EU wide.

Fast forward to 2017 and Ant is now responsible for the label management roles of both Metalheadz & Dispatch Recordings. Having released numerous compilation series on Dispatch, the hugely successful “Transit One” & “Transit Two” albums (topping almost all the usual stores weekly dance music sales charts across all formats) and the more recent milestone ‘Dispatch 100’, the label features a fine list of consistently quality music from the likes of DLR, Break, Survival & Silent Witness, Marcus Intalex, Klute, Nymfo, AI, Zero T, Cern, Dabs, Skeptical, Dub Phizix, himself (and many more). Ant has remixed material for the likes of Cern & Dabs, Sunchase, Quadrant & Iris, Friske, Nymfo as well as having his own solo work remixed by Xtrah along with working on further collabs alongside the likes of Survival, Dauntless and DLR.

Ant is also the head of Artist Management at both Outlook & Dimensions Festivals, playing a pivotal role in bringing consistently strong Drum & Bass acts to the Croatia every year, earning back to back 2013 & 2014 “Best Festival” accolades in both the Festival Awards & the Drum & Bass Arena annual awards.
