Hijacked Records Detroit is amped to bring you our next release, “Transdimensional,” from New York native Marcus McGowan. We actually thought this dude was from Detroit, and when you hear his music, you will too. This music is on another level and we invite you on this virtuous journey with us. 
This ep opens with Marcus’ “Transdimensional Flight.” This track is a tranquil 7-minute expedition that’s almost like Juan Atkins and Dan Curtain are at the helm. This would be a great opening or closing track, or simply if you want to take pause and create some dramatic, funky mood in your set. 
Next up is Antwon Faulkner’s “Transdimensional Flight – OV-103 Remix.” Aptly named after a space shuttle, Antwon maintains the otherworldliness vibe of the original but turns up the energy a bit. A nasty beat with even nastier chords launches us into orbit for a mission in funk. 
We then have another original from Marcus titled, “Cascading Through Space.” This is reminiscent of a time in techno when complicated drum patterns and brilliant ambiance were celebrated. This takes us back to Stasis, or Black Dog, again with that quirkiness of early Dan Curtain. This track is stunning and something you’ll likely put on repeat for your own enjoyment. 
We close out the ep with Marcus’ “Deep Space Exploration.” Again, the quality of production here is incredible. This could easily be a Peace Frog release; intricate, sophisticated, deep and dizzying, propelling you into euphoric bliss. We’re really impressed with his work and proud to put this out.

Antwon Faulkner has been in the game since the late 80’s. Born and raised in Detroit, Antwon started hustling mix-tapes at the age of sixteen. With music in his blood, this is truly what he was born to do.

At thirty-five Antwon briefly relocated to Arizona but it wasn’t until late 2008, when he moved to Toronto, did we really get exposed to this next exciting chapter. While people may be more familiar with his DJ moniker, the infamous “Twonz,” in 2009 we got to know a new Antwon, an Antwon re-energized, excited and motivated. His focus shifted from throwing parties and DJing to making music and really honing his craft as a producer. Spending countless hours in the studio, Antwon is careful to avoid listening to others while in his creative zone so the product reflects him and him alone, devoid of any outside influences. With an upgrade in equipment and new pieces of gear, we’ve seen Antwon turn a corner in which he has found his lane and is settling in really nicely. The results are heard in using less loops and playing more of his own keys. While he still regularly releases tracks on his own imprint, “Hijacked Records Detroit,” recent years have seen him spreading the love with multiple releases and remixes on “Restructured Recordings,” “Bulletdodge Records,” “KMS Records,” "Downside UP," "Elephanthaus," "Thoughtless Music," "Motech LTD," "UNT Records," "Frequenza," "Sampled Detroit," and "RF Trax."

In 2018 he received the “TESTIMONIAL RESOLUTION PLAQUE” from the city of Detroit. His contributions in bringing the sound of Detroit to an international audience has caught the attention of many DJs worldwide. Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Gene Farris, DJ Bone, Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Carl Cox, Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, DJ Heather, Pete Tong, Paco Osuna, Luigi Madonna, Hector Moralez, Stanny Abram, Stacey Pullen, and many more have played Faulkner’s tracks!
