Lying to others is one of the lowest acts a human being can ever do!  The truth always comes out eventually, and when it does there is hell to pay!  I know that I have been guilty of this in the past, especially when I was younger.  I guess everyone goes through these phases of deception and trying to get away with whatever they can.  It always comes back to bite the culprit however, so there's really no point.  Trust is broken when people lie, and this can often lead to the irreparable damage of friendships and close bonds with family.  I'm a big fan of the Jim Carrey film "Liar Liar", which is about a compulsively deceitful lawyer who wakes up one morning and can only tell the truth.  The results are hilarious as he struggles to go about his everyday life, not to mention his job in various courts of law.  The song's title is taken from one of many things that a music friend of mine is teaching her kids at the moment.  These very words are actually stuck on her fridge, to serve as a timely reminder.

One may have noticed that I like to document my thought process when it comes to writing songs, and they can often start at one place and end up somewhere completely different.  I guess that's the beauty of these songwriting themes, as they really get you thinking outside the square.  I know that I have written about things that I would have never even considered, had it not been for I Heart Songwriting Club!

Argyll

First conceived in early 2009, Any Idle Clone is a solo music project in which all material is written, performed and produced by a Manchester-based singer-songwriter. Tracks from the debut album, released in 2010, feature a strong acoustic influence, relying on piano and guitar accompaniments, stripped back vocals and an emphasis on story-telling lyrics.
