''The Concealed Club Manifesto project pays homage to the mid 2000s underground UK club music scene, an era of music which acts as well of inspiration and creativity for the Nouveau Monica, and has no doubt helped shaped his sound. For the French producer, the UK club scene holds a special allure and mystique, especially since he observed this phenomenon from afar, and was idealized as one of the most “pivotal” moments in underground club culture, making it seem intangible, hence concealed. Nouveau Monica’s sound palette is deeply rooted in the UK scene, which he combines with his own personal musical background. This mid 2000s UK club sound is what the producer defines as his “Golden Era” and the genres created during that time are the building blocks of the Concealed Club Manifesto EP.

The last iteration of “See The Light”comes from none other than Hodge himself. A club tailored cut with a heavy groove, pattered with percussive elements, followed by sun drenched melody and sweltering pads that unleash into a a bellowing bass track, perfectly suited for peak sunset hours at a day rave an unforgiving Soundsystem.''

Jensen Interceptor follows up this year's Jensen & Friends LP with a four-track EP named after the Thermaic Gulf in Greece, where his family hails from.

The inspiration goes deeper than just the title as Jensen has delved into the sounds, both ancient and modern, of his motherland.

Whether sampling sounds from some of his favourite Thessaloniki-based drill artists or incorporating live recordings of the Lyra and Pandura, he has woven these elements into the architectural fabric of all four tracks, along with all the humour, charm & hallmarks we would come to expect from the Berlin-based one-man club-banger machine.

Tom Place - Kick Back [choccybiccy]

DÔME label, sub-label of Astropolis Records continues to celebrate the creativity of the French-west coast and the new edition of the festival with a new EP. Mixing trance, breakbeat, IDM, hyperpop and electronica, the 10th release of DÔME takes you on a cosmic, contemporary journey through the many facets of deconstructed and futuristic club culture, from bangers to more atmospheric tracks, gathering Transe Ar Gwez, Ika Sile, ano poli and Goupile, four adepts of genre-bending and syncopated rhythms.  

The EP opens with ‘New Space Order’ from Rennes-based producer Transe Ar Gwez, who continue to assert his unique sound: melancholy trance music blending dub, breaks and twisted samples.

On Nasty Treatments, Ika Sile, a regular on top labels like Shall Not Fade, delivers a catchy banger with euphoric vocals set against a backdrop of contemporary production combining futuristic sound design and breaks, with nods to the UK hardcore culture and club music of our time.

Versatile producer Ano Poli delivers a singular cross between hyperpop and bass music on ‘badtoothfairy’. Pop and vocoded vocals, overdrives and polyrhythmic swirls come together in a futuristic maelstrom. A tool designed to energize the dancefloor.

The EP closes in a much more atmospheric vein with Goupile (Saint-Brieuc), faithful to her universe, delivering intimate, organic and salvator music with a gentle melancholy, halfway between ambient, electronica and IDM.

An EP with plenty of potential for the club and the open air season, and setsing the tone for this new edition of Astropolis.
