“Tuaim” is the Irish term meaning any natural sound or in particular, the sound of the waves banging against the rocks. Two voices blend fluidly together in this piece reflecting the endless flow of the ocean. The piece is written for two voices with fixed media. 
The fixed media are different transformations of the same field recording of Scheveningen’s shore. I wanted to create a fluid duality with both the voice and the sound of the sea; a waveform of both media ebbing and flowing throughout.

Got Soul

This beautiful piece of instrumental music was written and performed by OJ Woods. Somewhere around 2014 he kindly let me listen to it, and I ended up putting a few words to it. (Always hoped he wouldn't mind!)

I didn't worry about the production or arrangement of the vocal at the time, just pressed record and see what (if any) words came. The spirit of this music is so deeply beautiful that I never wanted to alter anything after.

It is always deeply profound to me when words just arrive to a piece of music; it is always slightly different to writing a song. I don't feel ownership when a message comes instead of a song. 

I still listen back to this untreated vocal performance and it still remains a deep personal favourite of mine. 

OJ Woods has become an online friend and collaborator over the years and is a deeply spiritual musician, sound producer, and shaman living in the the west country of the UK.
