Loomis - 'Deep Cuts' Mix

Our friend turned up again
Messy, unclear and shattered
We tried to hear
We tried to console
We tried to open the road

But nothing doing, no access,
No shoes, no map,
No need I'm crap

One day maybe
They will know that they need no help
That the light they hold will light the road
They need no help

This Day, here
is incredible, beautiful Peace

The teaching and learning
and mis-understanding
Mothers missing
Fathers kissing
Brothers hitting
Sisters mocking...

But this Day
This Day, here is incredible,
Beautiful peace......Always.

On The Day Of My Suggested Arrival

BaliGong

This beautiful piece of instrumental music was written and performed by OJ Woods. Somewhere around 2014 he kindly let me listen to it, and I ended up putting a few words to it. (Always hoped he wouldn't mind!)

I didn't worry about the production or arrangement of the vocal at the time, just pressed record and see what (if any) words came. The spirit of this music is so deeply beautiful that I never wanted to alter anything after.

It is always deeply profound to me when words just arrive to a piece of music; it is always slightly different to writing a song. I don't feel ownership when a message comes instead of a song.

I still listen back to this untreated vocal performance and it still remains a deep personal favourite of mine.

OJ Woods has become an online friend and collaborator over the years and is a deeply spiritual musician, sound producer, and shaman living in the the west country of the UK.

Words:

There it all began
Waiting for days to unfold
in the alpha of what we had, a mystic frozen road
And I took from what I’d known
A darkness deep within
and the place I knew as home
was long gone.

And the beauty
That crossed my life
Friends thrown far and wide
We were living in another time..

What price do you pay
For forging your own way
What money’s put down
To hold on.
