In 2023, a new private space opened in Madrid, Spain with the intention of becoming a meeting point for the pure enjoyment of underground music. Espacio Perpendicular will be broadcasting some of the many recordings taken from the venue as well as hosting live events in the future for our collective listening pleasure, here on 9128.live.

This time we have and ambient and electronic session that "La extraña Pareja" recorded a few nights ago in our space. "La extraña Pareja" is a project developed by our beloved Doozer and Alberto Iniesta when they come together to play records.
As always, starting from the day after the broadcast, you will be able to enjoy the sessions on our SoundCloud playlist. The flyer design, as always, is the work of the talented Javier Marimon.

Micaela Casella aka E L A is an Argentinian DJ based in Milan. She began her musical journey in 2011 in Córdoba. Returning to her hometown Buenos Aires a few years later gave her the opportunity to get more deeply involved with her beloved Techno through the “Arjaus” School of Electronic Music.
E L A captures ambient soundscapes and subtle grooves full of surprising change. The psychedelic nuances in his selection constantly create innovative atmospheres. Her hypnotic sounds, inviting rhythms and timely transitions define her.

E.M.C. atmospheres - E L A

"Breakbeat always transports me to a gritty warehouse on the outskirts of an industrial city. The air crackles with the energy of flickering lights, evoking a futuristic, science fiction-esque atmosphere. Within this surreal backdrop, I can almost envision robotic entities swaying to the rhythm, blurring the boundaries between artificial intelligence and human expression. It's a captivating fusion of the disorienting, almost hallucinatory, and the undeniably enthralling, leaving me immersed in an otherworldly, yet exhilarating sonic tapestry."

Eafhm (@eafhmlive) is a multidisciplinary project created recently by the evolution of different artistic and exploratory stages. This project has developed different facets, including a career as an interpreter and audio producer when experimenting with a wide variety of musical sequences. It seeks the integration of oscillating interpersonal ideas among the variety of solid conceptions. This project also defines the transformation of the artist that has developed under different aliases for many years. Each interpretation is made to create an atmosphere based on sound art, generative art and Techno in its different variations. Eafhm is the founder of the beautiful label Secuencias Temporales (@secuencias_temporales).

Happy to welcome Josephine' Soundscapes aka @machines-desirantes to our mix series! Jose Salas is an audiovisual creator and active cultural promoter in Madrid. As a DJ, or selector, he always works with a mixture of research from the past with a strong commitment to the present. He is currently part of the collectives a_mal_gam_a and CALMA, both working in the Spanish underground electronic scene. He also hosts a radio show called "Campos de Marte" on @radio-relativa, focused on experimentation in music.

This mix is a beautiful mixture of downtempo beats, acid synths and trippy melodies that builds up beautifully over 1h40. It's as he calls it, a "Machine Desirante" coming to life :)

Tribute to Amenthia Recordings by Monochrome (02.10.23)

"And suddenly we had to do a live show. In Barcelona. Each of us being in a different country".

 What does the city sound like, what do people say, how do you feel when you are part of it? Either passing through, or as a local. 
These were some of the first questions we put on paper. Sitting in a Berlin bar. Trying to get the tone, before going up to Alex's house and turning on the machines.  

From here, visits to the city of Barcelona were made and small stories were captured in transit; streets, parks, neighborhoods, markets, encounters. Barcelona, basically. We came up with an unwritten script that situated us somewhere to release our musical language.

.apart began its first steps with the 'Chapters', inviting either friends or strangers from remote places, to leave a sonic trace in our catalog. What we didn't know, or at least clearly, is that all these contributions would end up being our influences as musicians. A route through genres and styles to learn from. And one that brought us together to make this music.

You have given us one of the most important gifts. Artists and listeners. You are as much a part of this as we are. Thank you so much.  

And thanks as well to @mostrabarcelona, for being the dream stage, team and experience that this industry needs.

He has performed in festivals such as Sonar, International Noise Conference, Observatori 2001, Experimenta Club, and in many other different national venues. On his musician phase he was part of groups such as The Fellatios, Bukkake, Orquestra del Caballo Ganador, D_Infection (with experimental Spanish pioneers Anton Ignorant and Ferran Fages) and M&D. He was part of Damo Suzuki’s (ex-Can) side-group ‘Damo Suzuki and The Nou Bodies’. He was also part at the beggining of the colective label Magia Roja where he shaped and managed the music content of the sessions at their venue. He joined dj Watusawa, owner of Zona Watusa and Selvamancer labels, under the ambient - collage project Molar Novate.
