First street-single from MC Eiht's forthcoming new solo album, Which Way Iz West, which is executive produced by DJ Premier & MC Eiht and will be released in a joint venture with DJ Premier's Year Round Records and MC Eiht's Blue Stamp Records.

DJ Premier stated to XXL "Runn The Blocc" was originally done as a freestyle joint 2 years ago over the same track as Black Moon's "Who Got The Props". I'm a huge fan of Young MayLAy from the west coast and he can spit.  So when we finished mixing the album, I wanted to keep the lyrics and put a brand new beat to it so that it sounded like a whole new song."

MC Eiht chimed in to XXL with his own comments "When I originally got the beat from Brenk (Sinatra), rather then do something that glorified hustling, I wanted to drop something more along the story-line of how it’s so stressful in the streets.  Then Premier sent MayLAy and I a beat and it just fit my vision of how the game used to be perfectly; knowing hustling is still a necessary evil and having to deal with everything that comes with it.  Preemo heard the final product and said it needed to be on the album; so now its official."

Alpha Faktion, the hard-hitting New York rap trio comprised of Azwun, Kraze ILLA and DJ Enyoutee have officially taken back the reigns of their careers, and more importantly, their art with the recent release of their album 'Creative Control.'

The perfectly-crafted LP is brimming with raw, energetic Boom bap meant to push back the closing circle of new millennial commercial rap and take both the culture and art form back to basics with no filter, nor filler; even recruiting the legendary Marley Marl to pay homage on “The Lineage.”

On their latest single, “The Shining,” Alpha Faktion, joined by D.I.T.C.-affiliated wordsmith Milano Constantine, are looking for perspective masked by a looming dark cloud. Despite the pressures of life’s ills, the group is carefully calculated, never reaching the point of breaking their moral barometer, but still accepting the iniquities that linger, as Azwun spits “The deafening night's everyday of my life / Even in daylight, the darkness is hugging me tight,” while Vherbal’s sinister production helps match the tone.

It’s an on-going battle between darkness and light, and on “The Shining,” the three NY-based emcees are looking to shift the balance toward the latter. One of underground Hip-Hop’s most anticipated albums is about to finally see the light of day when Apathy & O.C. release 'Perestroika' next month. The hard-hitting underground rap duo of Apathy and O.C. are coming “Live from the Iron Curtain” on their bruising new single off their highly anticipated collab LP, 'Perestroika.' 

Given that these two emcees are known for packing their bars with crazy wordplay and intricate rhyme patterns, there’s a lot to unpack on their latest track. And that’s apparent from the jump, as Ap opens “Live from the Iron Curtain” with a verse so blistering, that it deserves rewind after rewind. He then passes the mic to O.C., who utilizes Ap’s hard hitting production to talk plenty of slick sh*t of his own. In between dissing rappers who are nothing more than compost, the D.I.T.C. rapper drops gems that include: "The game's a farce now, but I still take it serious/ Jewelz I spew, some view lines as luxurious/ the opposite of führer, when I occupy Europe.”

You’d be well within your rights to expect nothing but lyrical gems considering what we’ve heard to date from these two. And sure enough, Ap and O.C. are fully prepared to bring the heat—and then some.
