Following his '4 Weeks EP' on Nothing Is Real, presenting the latest signing to Alan Fitzpatrick's Apex Faction, Dharma drops his next EP ‘Ghost Hunting’. He brings us a turbo-charged instrumental voyage, blending his influences from jungle to electro.

Favouring the breakbeat, a common theme throughout the ‘Ghost Hunting’ EP, Dharma pulls on a nostalgia deep-rooted in any raver. The whirlwind, up-tempo sonics of the lead track evoke nods to the 90’s hardcore and jungle era with finely diced breaks and tripped-out arpeggios. 

‘Holloway Road’ follows, keeping the speed right up with an electro aesthetic. Channelling elements of early Detroit pioneers with a futuristic twist. Blurring the line between techno and drum and bass through rhythms and sonic architecture throughout this mind-warping journey. 

‘Flying Chicken’ rounds the EP off with a lush, immersive piano progression and some truly dazzling soundscapes. Dharma continuously challenges the norms throughout this delightfully playful record, laced with the intrinsic musical quality of this young producer.

Dharma - Ghost Hunting

Music legends Adamski and Robert Owens have come together to create a unique dance track entitled ‘Black Butterfly’ to commemorate the tragic deaths of sisters Nicole Smallman and Bibaa Henry.

Prominent remixers Mr. C, Shadow Child, Captain Mustache and Leeroy Thornhill (The Prodigy) have all added their support and services to the track which is released 3 June 2022 independently by Million Women Rise.

All proceeds from ‘Black Butterfly’ will be donated to the charity Million Women Rise (MWR).

Ian Pooley returns to Rekids with Studio A Pt.3 this September. 

The third and final entry in a three-part release series based on his studio, Ian Pooley’s ‘Studio A Pt. 3’ for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him drop yet another set of bumping, hardware-focussed tracks.

Leading the A-side, ‘PSS480’ combines swinging drums, modulated low end, and trippy bleeps for a party-starting house track. ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ brings flanged-out drums and lush pads together for a wonky yet driving cut. On the flip, ‘Viola’ sees Pooley heading toward heavier territories with rumbling kicks and heaving synths forming a pumping techno track before the ‘303 Version’ of ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ closes out the EP, introducing tweaked-out acid lines and freaky FX to the original version.

Active since the early 90s, the German DJ/producer has released on the likes of Force Inc, V2 Records, and his own Pooledmusic, remixing for the likes of Deee-Lite, Carl Cox and many more, as well as being one of the few to be remixed by Daft Punk.

Born in Sunderland, Dharma has surfaced with a formidable musical background - performing as a multi-instrumentalist in orchestras, bands, and most recently as an electronic music producer. Dharma’s distinctive, yet unique sound takes major influences from the likes of The Prodigy, Aphex Twin.

Still only in his twenties, Dharma has released on a flurry of labels, most notably, Permanent Vacation where he received support from the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick and CRI.

The start of 2022 saw Dharma release 3 EP’s over a 4 month period. The first being on Newcastle based label Ape-x where he delivered a monster 4 track EP ‘Escaping The Harddrive’ which explores the realms of ambient, house, techno, breakbeat, jungle, and beyond. 
The release received a wide range of support and received positive feedback from dance music heavyweights Daniel Avery, Skream and Erol Alkan.

Aside from his own productions, Dharma has been on the receiving end of a wide range of remix projects. Some of the remixer's names include the likes of Marc Pinol, Omri Smadar and Boy Short’s and in 2022 Dharma delivered some of his own remixes, most notably, remixing fellow north easterner Man Power on his renowned ‘Me Me Me’ label.

2023 plans to be a huge year for Dharma as he prepares for releases Me Me Me and his much anticipated debut on the dance music heavy weight R & S Records.
